Very much appreciated, seems more responsive already!Hi everyone, we're back up. Took the site down to upgrade the server space. You should now see more regular uptime and stability, but please don't count out intermittent issues and slow response times until the migration is done. Timeframe for that could be a couple of months.Comment

I need to know the technical details because I may be able to help with that. The aim is to get a working test configuration running, with the old content ported, so the site can make the transition as smooth as possible. To help with that, I need the technical details so I can offer advice and assistance as needed."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

No thanks please. I've completely stuffed it up and haven't put enough effort in like my predecessors did. We'll get there though. Bear with me. A few more things to do.Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sectorComment

Hi TS, RWO is run on a hosted VPS linux server, Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS.I need to know the technical details because I may be able to help with that. We are currently on VBulletin4. Would need to upgrade to latest version of VB6. It's compatible with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
My guess is we would need to:
Take an image of the RWO database
Set up VB6
Update Ubuntu on the server
Migrate
Test
Update all plugins
Test
It's interesting that we currently have (8547 Viewing). That's a lot of bots contributing to the server load. We'll be able to address it in the migration, but wowLast edited by Danzar; 12 July 2024, 12:55 AM.Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sectorComment

VBulletin has a forum where similar upgrade questions have been asked.
Example from August 2023: Can I upgrade from 4.25 to vB6?. That thread has a reply referencing this VBulletin sticky thread: Quick Overview: Upgrading vBulletin. This provide some detailed steps on how to perform an upgrade."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Additional information from my links I posted previously, in response to this:
One of the threads I posted had this:I'm absolutely happy to fund this, including an hourly rate for the time you invest in the migration.
I assume this is US dollars. If you have (VBulletin) do it, the cost is currently $149.00 each time.
That sets an upper limit to the cost of the upgrade."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment
