I just watched it on DVD for the first time and I lost it ie blubbering uncontrollably at the end when Leo took his mark all the way through to the boys doing their lap of honor.

I finally managed to watch the game on TV last night. I had absolutely no memory of it from being there. And when Leo took that mark and Tadhg jumped him and they all started hugging, I lost it again and started crying :-). I think those final minutes and watching the presentations will always have that effect on me.

I remember the ball coming towards us (I was in M34) and standing up, holding my breath as it reached the pack. I was dead silent for a second or two as half the ground went up in a roar....I couldn't tell if it was us or Weagles player who marked it and when Leo stood up ball in hand, I remember screaming something about having his babies/naming my own Leo etc etc. I was still yelling this when Tiger jumped on his back and the whole section just went into meltdown. We were all crying. My brother was hugging and lifting the guy dressed up as Warwick Capper. I hugged the lady in front of me, my mum and then turned around to see my nephew, six years old....tears streaming down his face, but a HUGE grin on his face. Then his quote of the day "I've been waiting my WHOLE life for this".

            Great thread this one.

Well I did not realise how good Leo's mark was in the end but as soon as he took it i was thinking in my head that it must be it, then i turned to Erin and said it must be it. As soon as i tilted my head to the front i saw Tadhg jump on to Leo and the biggest roar i have ever heard erupted.

I jumped so high and fist pumped about a million times. I turned to Erin and Bec and just gave them the biggest hug. Erin was in tears and Bec had the biggest smile on her face.

Then it hit me...we won the premiership! From there the tears started to flow.

Best day of my life by far and one i want to experience over and over again.

I reckon I've watched Barry's mark and the immediate celebrations afterwards at least a few dozen times now!

Have watched the replay at least 5 times - I just love watching the lead up to that brilliant last 5 minutes. That, and the fact that Fox Footy see to replay it over and over again...nice.

Relieving or reliving Mike? Bit of a difference in connotation there ;-). I mean, Leo already said that Tadhg humped him, I don't think he'd have been too pleased if Tadhg relieved himself too

Met up with Des, Ert and a whole bunch of others at Punt Rd and hung around there till it finished up, then headed to Patony's on Clarendon St where that pic was taken.

Yes well it was an emotional night

The day after the grand final, I stumbled onto a V-Line train to Geelong, clutching that day's Herald Sun and The Age. I've since secured copies of Sunday/Monday's HS, Age, Daily Tele, SMH.. Even Monday's Geelong Advertiser - with local boy Amon Buchana, and the Colac Herald "Colac's Super Swan Amon Buchanan".

So anyway, there I was with my papers, a bottle of coke, hat, scarf, blah blah... and I passed another similarly hatted, scarfed, dog-tired and sunglassed Swans supported. We shared a nod and a smile. That's all we needed.

When I got to Geelong station, there were a couple of old boys with the now-regulation battered Swans scarves, waiting for their cars. Another set of nods and smiles. "Now I can go back to barracking for Footscray", one of them quipped, straightfaced.

My lasting memory of this will be the feeling in the city after the game. Mike, Charlie and I walked from South Melbourne to our hotel on Spencer St, hardly a car or group of people would pass without hearing a cheerful "Go Swans!", we'd share the aforementioned smiles and nods with fellow red-scarfed people wandering the streets of Melbourne.

The enormity didn't really hit me until Baz and Roosy lifted the cup. Oh My God, I thought. We've won the flag. Just looking around the delirious crowd at the MCG, I kept wondering what it meant to each and every one of them. This is only my ninth year of membership, and I was stunned beyond belief - what must it be like for the long-time faithful? I take my hat off to you all.

I never heard the final siren.

One moment, I roared in triumph as Leo came up with the ball, perhaps a hint of panic in my voice as I pleaded with him to settled down, take his time, go long, get it out of there!!

Next thing I know, we were all celebrating.
