    $3000 Man

Well the argument last week on Jude Bolton's value has fairly and squarely won by those who said he was grossly overrated for that price.

He showed today that he is an average footballer. I can't recall him winning a centre bounce clearance apart from 2 holding frees. He was pathetic around the ground and refused to chase.
I don't wish to watch the replay, but he got a couple of easy gimme kicks when the game was one, appears to have had lots of "stats" if thats what they are called. I would not be far off the mark by saying almost everyone of his disposals until late in the game could be called a clanger, nothing disposal or just utter crap.

He cannot kick or handball to save his life.

I just hope the club did not sign a contract last week with anything above $150,000, about the average price. If they did he is a thief and they are stupid.

great game against Geelong, and hes worth his 300K. Poor game today, and he's worth 1/100 of that. I wonder who let his new contract details out to the public.

You just can't pay someone $300,000 who's disposal skills are as poor as Jude's. It is just bad business management.

I thought he did some good things today, in the last qtr, 2 kicks out to Pebbles that resulted in goals.

So what, why didn't he do it earlier. The game was gone and the pressure was off. A good midfielder sets the game up right from the start, not simply stroll in and look good when it's too late.

there's no need to pick on jude.
he didn't stand out as being any worse than any other player on the team.
the team lost the game, not certain individuals.

He and any other players who have played over 100 games are serious players. If the team looses which is the case here, this group is the one most responsible. There is no excuse of "not any worse than any other player on the team". Senior players suppose to lead, not to follow.

A good player is supposed to be able to stand against the tide. We unfortunately dont have many of these in our group of serious players. When the first-tier players fail for any reason, none of the second-tier players was able to stand up to compensate for the shortfalls. It is time to trim this group. No premiership team could carry that many downhillers like we are currently carrying.

Loyalty and sentiments are great if and only if the team is performing.

!00 % agree. The scary thing is that if the rumors are true, he may well be being paid the same or indeed more than any of Brisbane's fab five, and that is a huge problem because it means that we will never ever be able to afford a fab five or even a fab three if we continue to pay dills like Bolton astronomical wages.
Partly I think it is the AFL and the AFLPA 's fault, as they insist that a huge percent of the salary cap be paid, even if the players a team has are sh* t .
PS. I wonder what the idiots on this site who love Bolton week in week out no matter what he does, will be saying when he and the Swans midfield get Smashed next week by the greatest team of all time ??
Deluded - that is what the people on this site are if they think that we are or ever have been any where near a chance of beating Brisbane to a Premiership in the recent past ( last year included).
1 win at the gabba in about 5 years means @@@@ !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought he was poor yesterday.

Amazing that he still received the votes in the paper!! WTF!?!

He had 23 disposals, most of them pretty much ineffective. Tried hard, but gave us nothing.

(of course he wasn't alone there, but again I say he is meant to be one of our best midfielders).

2nd rate palyer who will be lucky to get a game with the lions reserves.

                      Not worth 300k.

Good to see the club going back to their old pathetic ways and signing players b/c of their looks at markatable value rather than their football nous.

A very expensive perve Jude is.

At least his young and hopefully will improve, what about Maxfield worst disposal of any captain in the league by a mile. Not fit to tie Kels bootlace when it comes to being captain IMO.

                          Improve?

                          IMPROVE?

How much longer do we need to give the drafties from 97 - 98 time to improve?

He is now a senior player IMHO. No longer young and has plenty of omprovement to do.

Same goes for that hack Fosdyke.

Thats a fair point actually,i always thought that if you make it to afl level you should have exceptional skills, instead it just seems that clubs are more after athletes that they then have to use the ball properly, read the play etc..,my point about Bolts was that lets start at the top,it cant be a good thing to continually watch the skipper therefore most respected, exsperienced player turnover the ball with crap disposal and poor decision making.Maxfield should be setting the example, taking the game by the horns,i just dont see him as this sort of player and if he is playing next year he wont captain because he will be an off the bench player Imo.

I think Stewie leads from the front in most aspects including his application towards training and other things.

Sure his disposal was suspect at times yesterday but he has more footy nous than Bolton will ever have.

You would think 2 weeks after signing a huge contract you would have enough confidence in yourself to be playing the best footy of your life to show the club they made a sound investment.

But he hasn't done this at all. I mean a player like Aker gets less than bolts and he has 3 friggen medals and one brownlow next to his name.

Yet the best Jude will ever get will be maybe a runner up to a B&F.
