Yes it was beautiful to watch that long raking kick to 3 un-marked crows defenders who then proceeded to move the ball along the outer wing for a goal.

Dempster has looked capable so far but take the rose coloured glasses off will you.

Just how many times did we see three unmarked Crows players charging down the wing on the O'Reilly Stand (eastern) side of the SCG? Why were they able to do that time and time again? When that (often) happened, how many times did we watch one or two Swans players on that side of the ground run down with the Crows players without the ball, allowing the Crows player with the ball to keep running. FFS Sydney, go for the player running with the ball when that happens.

Ok, so I must have conveniently forgotten about who was at the receiving end of the kick, but sheesh, I gotta find something positive out of yesterday. Its just that much more depressing otherwise.

You haven't been following the Swans then?
Re-read it. 12 years, and I've seen some ****house footy in that time, but yesterday's was beyond the worst I have seen in several years, and that's really saying something, because we have put in some truly woeful performances in that time. I'm usually fairly positive in situations like this, but yesterday's match left me with nothing to be positive about bar Dempster, who impressed me again. I'm slightly less annoyed today, but still rather fired up about it all (as some unfortunate lecturers at uni discovered today! )

Oh and cruiser, that he is a she!

Swansrock you are indeed the lucky one. You seem to have come along right at the end of the Buckerina era.

I have followed the Swans since about 1958 (first game my dad told me) and I have to tell you the early 90's were shocking. When your team is out of legs at the 15 minute mark of the 1st Q you are in real trouble. We copped some frightful floggings until Ronald Dale Barassi came along.

Yeah I think I was pretty lucky - My first ever match was the season's first win (of 4) in 1994 against richmond. Barrassi was my hero, lockett was my most-hated villain and Kelly was such a legend it wasn't funny at that time! But even then, they played a heap of downright crap football, and it was really only 1996 when they started to show they could consistently put some good games together, so I draw a line of sorts from 96 onwards. And in that time since, I think the only performance that stands out in my mind as anywhere near as bad for so long was the match against St Kilda in 98 or 99 I think it was when we got done by 101 points and people were leaving at half time in disgust. I'm used to watching the team fade for up to a quarter at a time, and having that cost us a match, so watching an entire match of crap REALLY sucks!

That was 98 - we beat them at Waverley in 99.

Oh for a 4 quarter effort. How long is it since we saw one of those?

Last time we probably smashed a team by over 100pts.
I'm guessing the Kangas game in 01 when O'Loughlin was simply Vintage.
