Very disappointed that McVeigh was dropped - when is this kid gonna get a decent shot?

Very happy re. Moore and Vogels. Hopefully Moore will remind Schneider and Buchanan what forward pockets are supposed to do.

Can't say I'm too sad to see Nicksy go, or too happy to see Mathews back.

Looking forward to seeing Saddo back on the track. He's got some nice skills (even if he isn't a CHB).

Also, I thought LRT put in a pretty decent effort last week. I know that there were a few times when he stood and watched the contest but his opponent (while he was at CHB) was Hansen who had started the season on fire and had a reduced impact against us - yes, rain might have been a factor.

Very very happy to see Vogels in. Another tall marking option in the forward line is just what we need to take some of the opposition focus off Hall. My prediction is for Vogels to kick 3 on debut
Good points Liz LRT has been traveling ok all his games and this stint in the ruck only adds another option for us in the future, so far this season CHF CHB R anyone who is bagging LRT doesnt get this game, how many of you have played CHB CHF and Ruck within 6 games??

Im glad McVeigh was dropped had plenty of chances but hasnt done anything to show is is different to Buchanan Schneider Spriggs Mathews etc ..Mathews had to come in if only for his experience as we are playing a couple of kids.

Wouldnt it be great to see Dempster actually line up on the wing his running and long kicking into the forwrd 50 could be a bonus.

Funny this is the first time this season Im really looking forward to the game anticipating a win I hope Vogels and Moore have good debuts, now I hope the team go out and play some attacking footy.

Next week add Jolly and Ball who knows.....

Yes, all the good players get moved randomly around the ground.

Vogels had 23 kicks, five handballs, nine marks and kicked four goals three, while Moore contributed with 19 kicks, 12 handballs and six marks.

we can see why these 2 guys are getting a run?

Incidentally, how has Campbell been going in the twos, has anyone seen him play?

Moore's disposal is general pretty good too, though the pace will be a little quicker this week no doubt.

LRT will simply give Goodes time to rest. Essendon's ruck division is very ordinary.

The pace will certainly quicken but - as I know you know since you watch the reserves - those stats from last week are more relevant than earlier weeks because there was actually some decent opposition.

Hopefully Moore will spend much of the game stationed in the forward line - rather than the bench. Assuming he gets some decent game time I think I'll predict him to kick 3 goals too.

It's funny and fantastic that a couple of new bloods bring so much excitement and anticipation (for me included !). You get the feeling it is like a fresh start for the club...

Stuie stepping down and two debutants in one team.

They will certainly bring enthusiasm to the team and the supporters...which is evident!!

I'm extremely happy for Vogels in particular, since he was elevated as well as part of putting him in the team.

I just have a gut feeling he may well turn into a really good player for us.

But where to play him? Is he a CHB (I think so) who can have stints at the other end to change it up (a la Leppitsch)? Or is he a CHF with Bazza breathing down his neck? Is Bazza the CHF or FF?

All will be reveiled on Saturday I suppose, but all of a sudden I really cant wait

As for McVeigh, there is something else going on me thinks. Is he not applying himself at training, or is there some attitude? Its all a bit confusing from the outside, because his performances haven't really been all that bad. Although I must admit he looks too light over the ball, so maybe Moore is a direct replacement because of his strength and bulk (?).

I believe before coming to Sydney he was a key position defender, but in the matches that I've seen him play for us he has mainly been used as a fey forward.

And apparently practically won the Grand Final for his team at CHF too from what I've read.

Just read his RWO profile, said he played as a winger at one stage too. Impressive versatility.

Saddington is a good inclusion. With him in the side, we have an extra ruck option. For all the Saddo bagging we've done, I happen to like the bloke. He's a tall utility - can play down back, in the forward line (he kicked four goals against the Roos in Canberra last year) and he can play in the ruck. Welcome back.

I'm also pleased to see that at last we are playing some kids. Moore is an excellent inclusion. I haven't seen him play but the RWO gives him big raps.

Vogels was a pleasant surprise. To be elevated as a rookie straight into the side is a wonderful achievement.

Good luck to both the first gamers.

Mathews back in is perhaps something we need. With four players being dropped, some experience in the midfield is needed.

LRT is in the side because we have little choice wit the talls. I expect him to alternate with Saddo a lot as the latter eases back into the side after 11 months out of the side.

McVeigh was a bit stiff to miss out, but his omission for the Essendon game is more significant than it appears. Along with the four omissions, it's a clear signal that Roos is getting tough with poor form. If Roos was still sentimental, he would have kept McVeigh in.

The Bombers have made a few changes as well. Most are forced by injury.

One last note - the Swans got some coverage on the footy show, a whole ten minutes. They had no choice with Maxfield's resignation. There's an interview with Kirky and some of Sam's anti-Swans diatribe that sounded a lot like an RWO post.
