The altercation drew a penalty of 225 demerit points - or a two-match suspension - but an early guilty plea will reduce the penalty by 25 per cent to 168.75 points and a one-game suspension.

Would prefer to just have to look at the one thread. I.e. the original one.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

This is a joke. Pathetic.
Actually, in the National Netball League you would probably just get sent off for the rest of the game and be allowed to play the following week!!!
Originally posted by swan_song I think I heard it's two weeks....reduced to one week for an early plea....I think the lawyers will only win out of this
Unfortunately, Hall won't be playing unless he beats the charge totally !!
If the Swans appeal and reduce the charge from "reckless" to "negligent", then the 25% reduction doesn't apply for pleading guilty in this instance and therefore Hall will still miss a week....
Looks like those ratdogs Demetriou and Anderson will have the last laugh after all....
SHATTERED for Bazz, still reckon we will win !
Well somebody told me, You had a boyfriend, Who looks like a girlfriend,That I had in February of last year, It's not confidential, I've got potential
Now we know he's got to fight the charge to get off, the Swans have to consider what the effect of all this will be on their preparation.
Maybe he should just accept the one week with the discount so we can work on trying to beat the Eagles without him - which is a pretty good chance given his form in the finals series - we nearly beat them at Subiaco with minimal input from Hall. And Glass has had the better of him for a while now in any case.
I don't think he deserves to be suspended based on the precedents set so far this season, but unfortunately I don't think the tribunal's going to see it this way. He's let the team down badly, and he's missed a great chance to play in a grand final through a moment of madness. Just going to have to cop it for the good of the team.
Shame to have to write about this for my 400th post - I don't want to let it spoil this week.
Originally posted by Thunder Shaker There won't be a court challenge. There will be a tribunal hearing, and possibly an appeal. If the appeal is unsuccessful we will cop it.
We CAN win without Bazza. The last time the Eagles played at the MCG, the Western Bulldogs gave them a shellacking and they didn't have Bazza either.
I agree with you, but the swans have been working basically since the incident too build a case too get him off, im pretty sure they knew he would be cited.
Mod edit - any suggestions of violence towards any player, whether in jest or not, have no place on RWO.
Well, if he pleads not guilty and loses, so what...he misses a couple of games next season...it has to be done..."not guilty" and if that doesn't work...take it to the supreme court for restriction of work...
It should give the lads even MORE resolve to stick it up those (expletive deleted)s down in vfl house...!
But having said that how (expletive deleted) stupid was it to do? And as for Maguire, what a girl!!!
