I've been refreshing afl.com.au every two minutes. They said earlier in the week that they should be done by morning (clearly not), so they should certainly be done by 3 or 4.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

If Hall had of intended to harm Maguire with a punch to any
part of his body, Maguire would have been stretchered from the
ground not to any further play in the game.

Not sure if this is an omen, but the other major Melbourne sporting event in 1933 was won by:

            HALL MARK

Barry Hall, has been charged with a Level Two striking offence against Matt Maguire, St Kilda, during the first quarter of the first Preliminary Final between Sydney and St Kilda, played at the MCG on Friday September 16, 2005.

He is able to accept a one-game suspension with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point), behind play (two points) and body contact (one point). This is a total of six activation points, which relates to a Level Two offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-game suspension. He has no applicable good or bad record. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 168.75 points and a one-game suspension.

Well I guess that means there will be no early guilty plea entered and it will go before the tribunal.

Well, appeal time at the very least.

Surely they can use the Koschitzche (sp?) case as a precedent.

                          Sheeeeeeet.

Now it gets interesting - I note that it's considered "low impact". So we need to get either the "reckless" or "behind play" elements sorted, correct?

'Behind play' is an error of fact. This gives the Swans an out on the basis that the charge is flawed.

"In other news the AFL has just announced that from Jan 1st 2006 the new competion will be called The National Netball League"

                              This is a joke. Pathetic.
