If this is true (which it should be givin the source) then Bazz is in with a big show i think.

    Go Swans!!!

But surely the panel must have used this technology in assessing that the incident was, in fact, btp.

Yeah, surely they would. There's no "surely" involved with reports.

Bondy seemed to think so! I was crushed when I heard the news on the radio but after hearing this i am a lot more positive about it.

Maybe they're doing this to get more publicity in Sydney..drag it out over a few days with Hall eventually getting off. we can only hope..

Of course it was in play! Barry was on a lead at the time.

Clearly one rule for Glenn Archer and another one for Barry Hall.

I always expected him to be charged. This appears a classic buck pass from the match review panel who don't want to cop the flak from the Melbourne mafia for clearing him.

The over-the-top charge certainly leaves plenty of scope for the Swans to get a downgrade (and then plead guilty) at the tribunal. That's what happened to Koszinske

As glum as I suddenly feel on reading this news about Hall, we have to try to not let it dampen our spirit and enthusiasm for Saturday. This is a huge week for all of us and one that we all deserve to enjoy. The club will do all in its power to ensure that he plays. We must try to have faith in their ability to do that.

sorry if this has been said am trying to skim through quick

have had to take another week off work cant concentrate.

This is a joke if you ask me, maguire wouldnt be awake yet if hall hit him hard. Maguire is a big fairy just like the rest of his team.

Schwabb was too scared to let hall off cos the media would attack the MRP and he would be under pressure to keep his job. He has taken the soft option and left it up to the tribunural. I hope he can get off tomorrow, but if not, we will still win, we have plenty of option, i.e goodes could ruck, ball could play forward

but barry hall deserves a flag

This is what we're hoping for, I guess. UNlikely to get reckless downgraded to negligent

"Negligence requires that a person must take due care to avoid acts which can be reasonably seen to be likely to cause illegal contact."

Our only out there, I would suggest, would be to bring in the fact that Barry was hitting his arm, not his chest, and the video evidence does not suggest otherwise.
On a strict definition basis I agree tuff to get reckless downgraded. But I think it's the case that in a number of reports this year, exactly that decision has been made.

I wouldn't discount the reckless downgrade yet either.

As far as I'm concerned this is set up perfectly for Hall to get the charge downgraded, I'm actually more confident now than I was before they announced the one week offer.

He's a potential panellist isn't he???? They have to pick 3 out 6 they have available to sit. He might not sit yet.

Interestingly enough Stuey Loewe could sit on the panel as well.

Why? Because I've already sent it to the Herald Sun. They most likely would have seen it by now. Let's just keep it low key. See if they pick up the ball and run with it.
Give it to the Daily Telegraph in Sydney who are right behind the Swans.

What we need now is to get that lawyer over here who got OJ off! This should be a piece of cake in comparison...though it all depends, I guess, on the supposition that Goldspink isn't a judge in his spare time
