Blues pumped undermanned Swans. Unfortunately not a great turn out by the Swans but a fun day had by all. Teams were splits into equal numbers with all neutral supporters playing for the swans. Very warm day and cold refreshments were in order at the end of the day - unfortunately im nursing a sore head now after continuing on late into the evening. Hopefully some photos will be posted shortly,

I've posted a (slightly TC-biased) match report, which can be found here.
Great day, good to meet some of you guys, and I hope we can continue playing these matches in the future.I'm a Carlton Fan. Deal with it.

Had a sensational day...well done to all involved! I am still feeling the after affects of my first footy match in 5 years! I was happy with a kicking 2.2.
Thanks for all those who organised this match on both sides, hopefully we can continue the tradition next year with a bigger swannies contingent.
Well done again!Swannies for life!Comment

A very enjoyable afternoon was had by all. A bit on the warm side which made it fairly tough for a 12 a side game. In addition, the lack of interchange meant that those out of condition really felt the pinch. I think a lot of energy was expended in kick to kick before the game even started while we were waiting for numbers to roll up.
RWO was represented by Agent 86, Matt 79, Wheels, Matt, GoSouth and David (KK's mate) (sorry if I missed anybody) plus some Blues players to make up our numbers. Thanks must also go to Anniswan who helped out by officiating as goal umpire at the Southern end. Thanks also to our cheer squad.
RWO showed a level of skill by being in front 4.4.28 to 4.1.25 at the end of a very long first quarter (about 30 mins). The Blues came back strongly in the second quarter and scored a bagful of goals to take a commanding lead. The second quarter was short at about 15 mins but no one complained. Hydration and recovery required. RWO was heading to the southern end in the third quarter and had a slight wind advantage. We managed to post a few goals and were holding our own even though energy levels were flagging. After about 25 mins in the third quarter it was decided by mutual consent to call it a day....the Blues would be victorious on this occasion but the RWOers were not taking this as an omen for Sunday's match. Final score Blues 16.3.99 to RWO 9.9.63
We adjourned quickly to the Bat and Ball Hotel and settled in to watch the second half of the Crows/Demons match which was live on Fox. Strange to see so many cheering the Crows goals.
It was great having a post match chat with ours Blues colleagues and there was a terrific camaraderie evident. A great ending to the day.
Can only hope that if we get the opportunity to have another match next year, and that would depend a lot on the timing of the draw, that we can motivate a lot more RWOers to make an appearance.
Thanks to all who had a hand in the organisation.Run2Live,Live2RunComment

This is me and my mate, David.
You'll note, I'm holding the VB (thanks, Colesy) in my good hand.Last edited by Kaptain Kouta; 3 September 2006, 10:31 PM.I'm a Carlton Fan. Deal with it.

Thanks all those involved, it was good fun.
What GoSouth neglected to mention was that despite having a number of years advantage on all the rest of us he absolutely put us to shame.
Also well done Agent86 for organising the ground, which was in surprisingly good nick (and bigger than we were all led to believe)
Well done it was a good arvo!I hear not what you say, for the thunder of who you are.Comment

Great afternoon. If there's a next time we'll have to do a bit more RWO recruiting - and thanks to the TC guys for loaning us a few of their younger players as well as a couple of key defenders.
The younger players relished the conditions that saw many of the older ones struggling to handle the heat (apart from GoSouth - whose marathon experience put him in a class of his own).
I have to admit I'm feeling it today in most parts of my body - including my ribs following a classy bump & turn by fullmont on his way to yet another goal for the TCers.
Well done to Kaptain Kouta & tara for instigating what should become a more frequent event - & we'll get some revenge next time.
Maybe even a game for Melbourne based RWOers soon?Comment

I'd like to say as well, congrats to all for a match played in really good spirits and attitude, with no agro (other than a little bit of fun sledging - but that was mostly between Me and David, or Deano sledging me).
I'd love to get another match happening next year.I'm a Carlton Fan. Deal with it.
