      From Parklands (again):

The only other AFL field that we have is the Bat & Ball field (corner of
Cleveland St and South Dowling Street). It is smaller than Bus Loop but
may be okay for a casual game.

It is available for the 2 or 3 September.

      Anybody?

        Good by me.

I'll suggest it to the TC mob, but I don't see a problem with it.
I'm a Carlton Fan. Deal with it.

You think we were arrogant before, just wait until we're back on top...

OK. Parklands have emailed me a booking form. The fee is $25. There is a lot of gunk on the form about public liabilty insurance - but I think it only applies to Clubs & organisations, not to members of the public - so if anyone breaks a leg then they are on their own (although we might give you a lift to St.Vincents).

My preference is for early-ish on Sunday, say 10?, but I'm open to suggestions.

Our guys are more keen for a Sat fixture. That way we can have a social chat and beer with you guys afterwards, before we turn on each other on Sunday

Also, any objections to my mate playing for you guys? He's absolutely busting to play against me.

OK. Saturday is cool with me. Let's give it 24 hours before I send in the form to get feedback from others on the best time.

Your mate playing is fine by me - but I'd be worried about having a "mate" who's so keen to belt you.

What are your possible player numbers like?

My suggestion would be about 4 - 5pm, that way we can play for an hour or so before light turns against us. (plus too much earlier than that and I might not be able to make it)
I hear not what you say, for the thunder of who you are.

At this stage looks like 15 for us.

We might get a couple of late inclusions, but I'm not holding my breath at this stage. I'll keep you informed.

My mate doesn't want to belt me, just beat me....He's a little competitive.

Maybe another venue..to say the bat and ball field is small is being generous

Really? Don't know it, myself - I had a look on Google Earth & can't see the posts (but she assures me they're there). Is it the spot on South Eastern corner of Cleveland & South Dowling?

If there's only, say, 15 (not very fit) players a side, we can get away with a small ground. But if it's "REALLY" small, maybe we should go somewhere else.

Remember - since there's likley to be out of towners - it shouldn't be too out of the way.

I'm happy to play anywhere, mind you, as long as it's reasonably accessible & close to a pub.

                            That's the spot.
15 a side should be ok, not much running to do (no complaints here )
Prehaps someone in the vicinity can give us more details.
As for alternates Gore Hill?? reasonably easy to find, and heaven forbid close to RNS Hospital

Edit:Maybe get in touch with Centennial Parklands and see if they have the dimensions for the oval.

What time do you guys see the match being played?

I would suggest anywhere between 11am and 2pm start.
