So interesting with our first pick (9) which is likely to slip back a.few spots. Whether we draft with it, trade down or use it for player trade (KPD hopefully).

He did sustain one of the worst injuries seen in the game. He was lucky he even played footy again. I thought he did a great job to get back on the ground.👍 1Comment

Jon Ralph suggests our first rounders this year and next plus Wil Hayward might get the Curnow deal doneThose who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

JUH is also linked to the Suns. I have read a suggestion that he could go to the Suns in exchange for a later pick. I expect the Suns will get one of Curnow or JUH. Which player they pursue will depends on what they want to do with their picks and Academy prospects.
Suppose Sydney gives up two first-round picks and Hayward for Curnow. Sydney would have to get Malcolm Rosas Jnr from the Suns as a replacement for Hayward. If Sydney gives up a later pick for Rosas, that pick could end up going to the Bulldogs for JUH. I would not be surprised if a four-way trade involving these clubs went down. Curnow to Sydney, Rosas to Sydney, Hayward and two first-round picks to Carlton, JUH and a second-round or third-round pick to Gold Coast, third-round pick to Western Bulldogs.
No, I really don't want to trade Hayward, but sometimes these deals need to get done. Unless you're Geelong, who last traded away a good player when they traded Kelly to West Coast in 2019. It would be a travesty if Geelong somehow got Curnow when they already have Cameron. How could they even do that deal?"Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

The only club I can imagine who might be interested is West Coast. But even that I doubt.Comment

Both risky, both potentially huge upside
JUH is a 1 yr look for a 2nd round pick, if it doesn't work, move on
Curnow is alot of draft capital, a teammate favourite for a guy thats has 3 surgeries in 12 months and is 29. Can see him putting a good year together but he needs to put 3 good years together to justify that outlay.👍 2Comment

That depends on what Gold Coast can offer. They have a better hand of picks than Sydney: picks 6, 13 and 16. They also have a couple of players who are seeking a trade. In theory, they could offer up to three first-rounders and a player (not necessarily to Carlton directly), and get back some later picks in return (35 and 44).

There is no way we will give up two first rounders + a player for Curnow. Absolute madness if we do."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."👍 1Comment
