SYDNEY has officially made an offer to Carlton for Charlie Curnow.

The Swans have put forward two players – Will Hayward and Ollie Florent – and two picks - pick No.11 this year and Sydney's first pick in 2026.

The deal would involve the Swans getting Curnow and pick 22 in return.

    Deal or no deal?

pick 22 in return this year
I doubt we will get pick 22, one of there later picks feels more likely

I read Ollie, Wilbur and Charlie are all managed by the same company

That suggests the conversations may not have been as brutal as they appear

I read that and thought that makes so much sense.

Player managers are big players in getting trades done. Sure does help if players are in the same camp. Managers also put a lot of pressure on clubs to agree to the deal they've worked out. Clubs need to be wary of pissing off the key managers or clubs will find dealings more difficult in future,

I see Tarryn Thomas has been cleared by the AFL to resume playing - that's if any club is willing to take him on. Reckon GWS and Geelong will consider it, they have a history of giving chances to bad boys but TT is really bad, particularly when you have an AFLW team to consider

I think it's no coincidence that Florent and Hayward have been bundled together being very close mates, to entice their move in the deal.

If the Curnow deal is agreed upon, wonder if club is looking at using pick 22 as Academy matching points, target another player or on draft night. The former seems most likely but it may also dpened on what we get for Buller (3rd rounder seems unders to me in such a weak draft).

Conspiracy theories that some of these big trades have already been agreed upon, but not to be officially announced till just before the deadline tomorrow, to help boost Fox Footy ratings.

It is uncertain whether Hayward and Ollie want to go

what an escarpment to traverse tomorrow

especially if it is a hard no from the Blues

                  welcome back Hayward and Olllie

we love u saids the club and coaching department lol

That 22 could be what swans need to split into more picks for other use with another club

                    ?

they might not want the pick 22 for one draft pick

Florent is surplus for our needs and probably on the edge of our best 22.
I think we will miss Hayward. But hopefully Dattoli can take that extra step. He is a bit shorter and probably doesn’t have the marking in him but will get more opportunities now that Hayward is likely out.

                        Agree here

Curnow is better than Haywood and other's get a chance to step up if he goes

I rate Florent but he is surplus to this coach so no value in this

5yr deals taking both of them to 32 is probably not great either, again, especially when one is on the outer

The picks are a bit irrelevant if we can still land our Academy

While I’m loath to lose them, something needs changing as we came close last year with this team but in the end weren’t good enough to beat Brisbane when it counted the most. So let’s not think that the current list is good enough, even when all fit, which of course can never happen. We need more marking power up front- it’s as simple as that and CC can provide it, if he stays healthy. It will also enable us to play Logan down back if needed, as our backline needs a top tall to help out, like Sammy Reid. We can then hope that our young players in our ressies will step up over the next 1-2 years.

I think what we’ve offered is fair and Carlton should accept it as it’s clear Curnow wants out. I know his first choice was Geelong but our offer is way better and I think our guys have shown both respect and common sense here, which is the Swan’s way. Sorry if Ollie and Wilbur leave us but we do need to make changes- that’s football!

A Carlton supporter has just informed me that Carlton has rejected the offer. But I cannot confirm this anywhere.

The sticking point for them would be the 22nd pick back to us this year. I am sure they don’t want that. But we should stand on our offer for a player that wants out. Two players in Hayward and Florent who are in their prime at 26 and 27 years of age and with good kicking ability that they lack. I am sure they will weigh that up against draft picks that they have mucked up for years.
it seems to me that Hayward probably was ready to sign with Carlton last year but decided against it. So he is happy to go. Both were very good players for us over the years.
I don’t think I will let Rowbottom go though. I think even if he is not the best player i am sure he sets himself very good standards and will be a good asset for the junior players to have around. And there would be fire in his belly for next year to prove himself.

Just heard on SEN Collingwood has offered pick 56 for Buller. Unders imo in such a shallow draft.
