We are treated with respect disdain by AFL and Vistorian clubs. What do carlton want now. They look as though they will trade their pick 22 to Hawks. What do they want Heeney, Warner and Gulden. Nothing from Hawks either for Serong they probably want 2 first rounders and we will probably do our best to fulfil. Hawks are not seriuos with Jai saying at beginning of trade period he deserves a chance to play afl and hope SS can provide that. Get same "B...s" and stand up Swans or else we will continue to be stepped over and used as a club to bleed.
Pull away from Curno, fix the bridges with Wil and stick to our current picks and maybe use 11 for a draft for key defender and get him to lean under Mal ,
So its over to u Cox and keane and maybe mr pres. to to call OVER.Comment

When a player is traded for cap space, these deals tend to be generous to the club receiving the player. Trading Florent for a future third-round pick isn't anywhere near as ridiculous as Gold Coast trading Jack Bowes and pick 7 to Geelong for a future third-round pick in 2022.
I wish the deal was more generous, or that the deal wasn't needed at all."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi final👍 1Comment

So the Age is reporting we give a future third (not clear whether it is ours or the one we got from Carlton) to Hawks for Serong and future 4th - which means we keep whatever we get for Buller from the Pies for points on the academy kids.Comment

Carlton want to retain Curnow and have him see out his contract, which is why they've rejected ridiculously generous offers.
I think Curnow won't get traded, but Carlton's will end up retaining a disgruntled player. Next year will be Curnow's winter of discontent, and he will seek a trade again next year. When that happens, Carlton will be offered less and may accept it. This is a similar storyline to the Daniher trade saga a few years ago.

According to what I read, Sydney had "pressure" on the salary cap, so Florent was traded to get some space in the salary cap.

And the Serong move is now official. We used our future third, rather than the one from Carlton.
If we get some points for Buller from here, and later pick back on the Curnow deal, it'll leave us in an ok position for three main academy kids - given 63 should also come in considerably.Comment
