I've been thinking it for a while, however, when I view the posts that we have today it appears obvious that the participants in this forum only feel happy when people are carping about the team or the umpires.
Geelong played very well today, our delivery into the forward line was crap, as was our pressure. Based on the result it appears the decisions that the umpires made incorrectly were reasonably significant again. Having said that, I was more ired by the commentators on Fox Footy than I was by the umpiring decisions.
Neitz gets off for the most abominable piece of barbarism I've seen in this game for a years (yes, even worse that Barry's shot on McGuire) and I'm sure Mooney will be off for punching Bukky that allowed them to score a goal. Despite this, you lot would like to talk about, what? How crap some Swans are and how they are poorly coached.
There's a whole bunch against the Swans, today they didn't play the best and Geelong played very well.
But all you can do is whine.
You guys sound like Tony Shaw on Fox Footy today. I don't know if Shaw hates the Swans or loves Geelong but he managed to see the good in Geelong in what the Swans did wrong and the bad in Geelong in what the Swans did right.
I may not know where Shaw's thoughts lie, but I'm presuming that since you are posting on RWO that you like the Swans. Which only leaves me with the conclusion that there is too much expectation running around this board from a bunch of people that don't really understand the notion of a bunch of teams running around for most of the year playing against each other in an elite sporting league.
Give them a break. It's not finals. It's not over.
Once again, I apologise. Although now it's not for my previous comments but for this rant. No one should have to put up with reading this.
PS. Richards and Bevan did well today. And I'd love Mooney at Sydney but he's a thug.

I thought Richards was quite good, especially when moved on Mooney. But surely you are kidding about Bevan? I can't recall one productive possesion he had today.

My Pokemon brings all the boys to the yard and they're like "Wanna trade cards?"
"Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I can beat you, I've got Charizard!"

I agree with that. I don't think his possessions were particularly useful. But I still think he was one of the few that didn't allow easy possessions to Geelong. I thought the biggest problem we had today was the Geelong didn't allow easy possessions for us and we allowed them too many. Given the Swans desired style of play, Bevan was one of the few that continued the whole day.
The only thing we needed to get out of the game today was no injuries, a win or a loss meant nothing as we will finish top 4 if we win the last two games at home.
We needed to win both or split the Melbourne & Geelong double and we accomplished the split.

I forgot to say in my second last post that I was banning myself for a week ( and I'll actually do that now) so if you all think I need more than that you'll need to email me.

We still need Melbourne to drop one of their next 3 games. Adelaide at AAMI seems the most obvious one but the Crows are struggling at the moment. Hopefully Geelong can play as well next week and win that one too.

There are plenty of discussions here on all aspects of the team and game - positive and negative and everything inbetween. Naturally when watching a game that we play poorly, there will be a lot of negative comments.

So you seem to feel free to complain about our game and the umpires.
I think umpires had little real impact.
Having said that, I was more ired by the commentators on Fox Footy than I was by the umpiring decisions.
I thought the commentating was okay.

So during the middle of the game you think we should about a potential tribunal decision in a few days that doesn't affect us?

Your first sentence would be the reason for the second sentence.

Given where we are and the importance of this game, the expectations of our performance are not unreasonable. It's not just that we lost, but that we played poorly.
Give them a break. It's not finals. It's not over.
It's not over, but this game has an important impact on finals and the team is not playing at its best.

That is correct, but you would put your house on Melbourne droping one against either Geelong at Geelong or Adelaide in Adealide.
As I said, our big game of the season (finals aside) was last week against Melbourne.
