Originally posted by adnar I thought Richards was quite good, especially when moved on Mooney. But surely you are kidding about Bevan? I can't recall one productive possesion he had today.
did you miss that top tackle he macde in the third quarter

His tackling was good. Other than that, he was pretty useless.
My Pokemon brings all the boys to the yard and they're like "Wanna trade cards?"
"Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I can beat you, I've got Charizard!"
FFS, I was talking to a mate last night and said this game was going to be a game we should win, but one where the swans will probably lose.....I was right.
As I said during the week, the Cats would be revved up with the lathering they took in the press. Additionally they often play better when the pressure is off, as I noted. I was surprised how flippantly confident people here were. BTW my broken record on Bevan continues - the bloke is the quintessential hack.
Don't tell me the 'Tedites" still don't get it...even the goal emerged from fear...he didn't know what to do!
Did someone say Bevan was good...even OK??? Get some new glasses.
Sucks that we loost, but sometimes team,s match up on atheres better thanmn others
Hpoefully we will still be in the top four.
Fuchjkin good on the AFL for noy letting us melbourne peple watch the games except fopr travelling to Geelonga and standing up for the game in ths sucky seats .
Are we still gonna make the top 4 or are we cactus now?
If someone poats an answer to that I'll read it tomorrrow and wee then.

If St Kilda win against Freo tonight, swans will drop to 4th on the ladder. Actually, if either win then swans will drop to 4th. The only thing certain is what Swans will end up 4th at the end of the tonight regardless who wins [St Kilda/Freo]. And if the demons win against the Kangas, we will drop to 5th.

I was at the Alexandria Hotel which was full of Swans fans in scarves etc (the rugby was shunted out the back as well! )
I got to watch both matches simultaneously on the two screens side by side. A bad day turned to a disaster when I saw the Doggies get up.
We were bloody terrible. Our captains were a joke today; our forward line completely inept. Tagdh lose in defence & Richards a dead loss in both the forward line & defence (aside from the one god snap). The fact we had to resort to putting LRT of all people into the forward line and henceforth proceeded to hoof and hope pretty much summed up the day we had.
Seriously Roosey, if you see Barry is having a bad day, move him on the ball so he can get a feel for the pill again. He is once against Matthew Scarlett's bitch.

Dempster tried hard all day and he and Richards played darn good last quarters with some hard running, good skills and decent kicks.
Bevan is clearly the worst player in the comp getting a game. Someone said he had "a" good tackle. Got his mandatory HTB early in the game, at least he got that one out of the way early. Did someone say he got put under the pump with a handball. He had space but when he got it he just stood there like the dummy he is. One point down playing our best footy of the game, someone stupidly kicked to Bevo who takes off in space and kicks beautifully to the Geelong fans in the outer. Player runs off delivers cleanly for a goal.
In the last Q he was on Prismall who marked near the point post but kicked a point. We prepare to kick out and he picks up Prismall at CHB, Prismall runs to the members wing, Bevo runs to the outer wing and definitely not take the kickin, turns around to look for his man and runs around in circles, cause he is not where he is supposed to be NFI. He does this every week. Who says he is hard at it. He is too slow to get to contests, the few tackles he does he simply gets lucky.
At least this week others apart from Gary and Snowy agree with me.
Did anyone else think that Luke Ablett had one of his better games today?? While he didn't get loads of the ball, he did some nice things with it, that made me smile eg: his nicely placed kick over the top to O'Keefe.

Barry was OK. At least he only had the occasional brain fade.
Kennelly is getting pill but his disposal selections are just way off. Unless of course he has become colour blind because he seems to kick to players with different coloured jumpers lately.
LRT wan't that bad. Coludn't see the sense in putting him to FF.
C Bolton - outstanding as usual. His negating role though seemed to work against us we missed his run off HB.
Fozzy - seviceable again, but why is he off for such long periods when he is playing so well. The go to man off FB line again.
Kirk - horrible kicking.
Ablett superb but looked injured late, apparently a back and was holding his right hammie.
ROK, Hall, Grundy and MOL all have sore necks from watching the ball go over their heads.
J Bolton OK given he was Ko'd early.
Jolly played OK.
Schneider and Buchanan were very ordinary. Need a lot of work on their disposal.
Goodes is a star and he and Ablett kept us in the game. What gets me Goodes has been very good from Round 1 and is still going with the work ethic, yet others seem to turn it on when they please. Maybe that is why he is a star. Standout Captain, no contest in 2007.
Doyle - dropped marks and easy ones at crucial moments. Needs to grab those with the limited time he has. A worry.
Malceski - pretty weak today. I mean weak at the contests and absence of chasing. Lazy looking effort. Is he a front runner.
The team - short ineffective kicks with the wind. Went to the boundary on the outer side when it was obvious the wind was taking the ball out. Do we need pefect conditions to play our best.
Last time I looked the goals were at the long ends of the ground, but we seemed to be kicking to invisible goals on the wing.
Do they ever do stats on the number of short kicks by a side in a game. I reckon we broke all records today.
Got smashed at the stoppages and centre bounces.
Strange thing about the game as I saw it was we seemed to have the ball just as much as them but insisted on indirect footy, the few times we went to the top of the square we goaled. I dont know that we are able to switch our game styles mid game anymore.
