Nat's pretty good at it!!
I agree 100% Nat, the guy is an idiot.
I honestly think he may have done something a little more than "just being drunk". Unless the copper him/herself is a total tool/beyatch, they tend to leave people alone who are just drunk.
In NSW the fine is drunk & disorderly - as far as I know. I've never been booked for either.
Maybe he was disorderly (and they're just not telling us how much)??

Originally posted by nat Well if you want to think Ben Cousins is the victim here and that he was simply out having a few drinks and got arrested for just walking down Southbank.. then be my guest. I think the guy is an idiot. Sure, there's a chance he was doing nothing except being drunk in a public place and that who he is got him attracted to by the police, but there's also a chance that it isn't the case and that he was acting like a tool, which isn't exactly something that he isn't known for.
Since when did guilty until proven innocent become standard?
Also, isn't there only one prior incident?

Don't get me wrong CTS ... the greater majority of my personal drunk & disorderlies have all been committed in public, it's just that I'm a no-one, and that no-one really cares .... least of all the coppers.
It could have very well been that the coppers just decided to pick him up cause he's the cuzz. I don't know. I wasn't one of the arresting officers. I'm just here for the speculation.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Hang on ... would a prior incident in Western Australia hold any weight in Victoria?
Anyone??

Originally posted by Layby I believe that Cousins has done a bar management course
so he feels he can drink 5-10 drinks more than anyone else safely
Surely that is ok with you Annie?
If he chooses to drink 5-10 drinks more than anyone and can do so safely, more power to him. I'm a firm believer of free choice.
He went out on the @@@@, during the off-season, four weeks before xmas. Good on him.
I'd like to have a beer with Cousins, well no I "actually" wouldn't, but you know what I mean.

Good for you! some reason
He will be disappointed, but will get over it probably.

He's 101 next month!

Originally posted by nat I'd say him being arrested would warrant him being guilty.
That depends if you want to include the incident with Michael Gardnier.
Hun, you're making yourself sound stupid. People get arrested then go to court to prove their innocence or be found guilty. Being arrested doesnt mean you're guilty of a crime.

I know that, i'm not an idiot. At the moment though, that's all we have to go on. He was arrested for being drunk in a public place.. i can't see how those charges could be dropped..
