How absurd. I don't give a toss what his name is.

If his name wasn't Ablett or he wasn't a Swans player, you (and others) wouldn't be supporting him so strongly despite the fact that his performances do not warrant it.

I just don't like Ablett as a player.

I cringe every time Ablett gets the ball.
His EFFECTIVE disposal rate is appalling.
I start up a slow chant ... aaaabbbblllleeeeetttttttttt, aaaaabbbblllleeeeetttttttttt, Kick it to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

The Demons have said everyone on their list is possible trade-bait as they bid to land Judd.

But a decision on the club or clubs of his choice may not be made until after Saturday's grand final as he will have surgery in Sydney this week on his troublesome groin.

Melbourne seem to be the one club brave enough to give up what would be a reasonable price for Judd.

How about we offer Melbourne our no 11 pick for Matthew Bate? I love this kid as a player and doubt we'll pick up anything better with that pick in the draft this year.

Not sure if pick 11 is high enough to help Melbourne swing the deal but if it was...

I'd much prefer Brock McLean. I doubt we'd get him for Pick 11 under normal circumstances, but if they get desperate and need it to get the Judd deal done........

Though our #11 pick for Foley over at tiger land looks even better!!

Would never happen. If they did decide to offload McLean (which I don't think they will), other clubs would be queueing up to give them more than pick 11.

I'm not convinced they'd let Bate go either for just 11 - but it is closer to fair value than no 11 for McLean. And he might be the one of their quality youngsters they are prepared to sacrifice if they really want to get Judd. We might need to throw one of our fringe players into the deal too - quantity does not always make up for quality but while Melbourne's top end is pretty high quality, I reckon they lack a bit of depth in many areas of the paddock and might welcome a player like Moore or Thornton.

I wonder if Brisbane will tempt them with their top 10 pick (7 or 8 is it?) in return for Pettard

Foley wasn't taken at no 3 - he's a rookie list graduate. Not that that makes any difference to what he's worth now.

Given so many players don't make it anyway, why would you trade a good player for a high draft pick, except if it was about getting type of player?[/QUOTE]

Because West Coast seem to want picks, not players. And so if Melbourne want Judd, they will probably have to come up with more top picks than they currently have.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'd throw in Phillips or Vogels with the no 11 too.

If Collingwood do that then we really should rethink offering Jolly 4 years. They'd be desperate for a frontline ruckman.
