Swan managed nearly twice as many Brownlow votes as Ablett has had all of his career. (Swan also managed nearly as many possessions and goals this year as Ablett had in the past two years!). So I don't think they're much alike at all!

I was thinking the same thing when Swan was shaping as a dark horse last night - and people still don't rate him other than a clone of Luke Ablett!

One thing for sure, his trade value's gone up now. We'll need to offer O'Keefe to get him

I dont think anyone is suggesting Ablett is a better player. But they are a similar type of player, and overall not a deficiency anyone would suggest we have.

I can't really see how they are similar. Swan is far more in the mould of a Cresswell-type player. Runs around making space, being a link man and gathering possessions. Nothing flashy but generally very effective. I would have thought he'd suit us pretty well and is far superior to Ablett in nearly every aspect of the game.
