Is Hall finished?

I don't want him to be washed up, but a dispassionate appraisal of his last 2 years of footy leaves me to believe (i) he is washed up and (ii) we play better without him because we are less one-dimensional. What they want to do is kick it to him when he is in position and to others when he is not. But it is just not happening. the mid fielders are are too Hall conscious and just tend to kick to him and hope. But he has lost a yard of pace, he was never a great contested mark and seldom takes any now (at all), and his kicking is only average. So, what is left?
And yes, some of the delivery is crap, but good players make @@@@ into strawberry jam. Barry Hall no longer has that capacity.
Considering where he is at and where the team is at, some hard questions need to be asked at the end of the year.He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

I think this question has been answered... Played a blinder on the weekend, after two solid performances.
Plenty to offer.Bloods

Um... Harry Taylor!
Bomber Thompson was quite comfortable to leave Taylor there to get comprehensively beaten as it was a good learning experience for him and Geelong were never in any danger of losing.Comment

His improvement over the last two rounds is perhaps as much to do with Goodes moving to FF and his move further afield. I agree he has played well in the last few games, but feel that his value to the team next year is dependent on playing as a CHF not a FF.He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

Agree but he has always played his best footy at CHF in my opinion, so nothing has changed.
Probably not the player he was, but 'finished' was premature and ridiculous.
People forgot how well he had played in some of the games, prior to the Staker incident.Bloods

When he has actually played this year he has looked very good.
No surprise that he struggled between his two enforced holidays and for a couple of weeks afterwards as he came back.
When you are over 30, it takes longer to readjust to the tempo of things.
