    BINGO.

Well written article. If Hally gets offered 4 weeks and 3 with a guilty plea he would no doubt be relieved.

However, his broken wrist will probably keep him sidelined for longer now!

I reckon most players would have fallen over, but when I watched the game on TV I did notice that Staker had to be helped to his feet (IIRC) earlier in the quarter - does anyone know what happened then ?
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

For @@@@@@@* sake.... Over here (on one radio station) they are demanding a year's ban. Bloody typical....

It is not like he tried to hit Staker in the nuts......oh no....sorry that was Kerr.....

Yes the hit was bad, a very poor lack of judgement and he will suffer the consequences with his suspension and deservedly so. Shame it wasn't Hunter he hit ,it would have been considered a community service, but he managed to hit himself when he slipped on the grass (and I laughed out loud!)! Baz has been hung out to dry by everyone -the media, would be experts, supporters, you name it.

He will be the media punching bag ( pardon the pun) for a few weeks, then someone else will do exactly the same thing but the reaction will be different and less toxic (you wait and see!)

Certainly the hit (and it was a bloody good one) shouldnt be condoned but the over reaction has been appalling, to even have a vote in the Herald Sun "should staker lay criminal charges against Hall?" honestly.

But to the Swans credit - they went into damage control as soon as they could - it wont appease some people, but they have been seen to do the right thing. Its now up to the tribunal to decide Halls fate - not the media.

The only positive WC could take out of the game was that Staker agitated Hall so much so as Hall hit him , so he can be proud of his contribution and will probably get the WC Best & Fairest points for the round, because the rest of WC did jack.

Ironic that Baz broke his arm on the QBE signage - hope they have sent the workers comp forms for him to fill in.

thats just my 10 cents worth.

I think that is coming from Staker's parents.

Well, look at it from the other side of the fence.

If an Eagle had of decked a Swan in the same manner, how many on this site would be calling for the death penalty?

Quite a few I would guess.

not quite the death penalty - and you are right we would have had a whinge - however, the instant overreaction was is world record time - I doubt it would have happened to anyone else. I havent said that he doesnt deserve the suspension - because he does but a years suspension that Stakers mummy and daddy want is just silly.

Lynch got 5 five weeks for his string of punches thrown in the 04 grand final too.(Doubled due to it being a grand final...) Although none of them connected with the force and accuracy as Halls, I think the punishment will be roughly the same.
