You must have found it hard to sleep last night NMW, so excited knowing that you'd be able to reply saying the same thing a dozen times in this thread, all the time sticking the knife into Barry Hall.

I'm pointing out the same thing because the same comments get trotted out again - a dozen is a slight exaggeration for 3 or 4. Unnecessary and innaccurate of you to impugn motives or emotions though.

I found it to be a very unpleasant experience and left a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of the night. It was hardly enjoyable or exciting.

One plus though is that in future backmen will think twice before grappling with Hall.

People like Lobster and Bloods are waiting for us to fail. And because we're winning, it hurts their pride.

They were negative last week against Brisbane, and the week before against Port Adelaide.

They are praying for a huge loss against Geelong, to justify their beliefs.

Normally if we thrashed the eagles or any side by that much I would be ecstatic but I am flatter than a tack..

I'm not sure why I wrote that in response to your quote as I agreed with your comments. I think I meant it to be part of my first response in that post. I've edited it to make more sense now.

Channel 9 footy show were actually very reserved, the verdicts ranged from 2 1/2 to 4 weeks from the panel.

What may be the deciding factor will be if Stacker's jaw is broken or not.

In any event Dr Larkins beleives Hall's wrist to be broken and he will miss 6 to 8 from that.

You did not read the post properly. I am not justifying what he did. In fact, I deliberately started my post by saying it is not a mitigating factor. I am merely seeking to understand what might have caused what is a despicable act by Hall.

I am raising a secondary issue, which is that the umpire was watching Hall being infringed and deliberately ignored it. After this going on for so many years, I think it was this that made Hall snap. He was filthy abut it, reached the end of his tether, snapped. Grossly selfish and undisciplined, but the umpire, whoever it was, in some way contributed to the outcome by inciting it.

I think that is going a bit too far.
It was in the heat of the moment.
A 'dog act' might be a more appropriate description for a king hit that was premeditated and purposefully applied in a surprisal way.

Heat of the moment or not, it was still a low act on a player who was looking away at the time and couldn't defend himself.

I don't really agree with footballers being held accountable for their off field indiscretions, but I do hope Hall is held accountable by the club for this on field one. The Swans have marketed him heavily, and a large part of that marketing is directed at children.

Little kids love him, this morning I seriously had to bring in a team of 7 year olds who were talking up Hall and his punch and I made sure that they understood he did the wrong thing. I'd be very suprised if I was the only Auskick or junior football coach having that same conversation this morning.

That and it made me lose 5 minutes of training time! Do they understand how hard it is to run even close to time with little kids, let alone having to, god forbid, TALK TO THEM!???!??!!?!?!?

I've been watching it over and over on Youtube, and it's just so bizarre. He wasn't even looking at Staker when he did it, but it didn't look like it was meant to be a scare tactic either.

I think it was a poor act, but I can't quite bring myself to feel the moral outrage that some here do. He was being niggled and reacted badly and should be suspended for 4-6 weeks. I reckon he must be hating himself right about now.

Our kids thought it was cool what Barry did including my young bloke.
You really can see first hand what impact this has on kids at a tender age.
