Played school comp then when went to Melbourne and plaed VAFA for several years before quit for work reasons.

I did not have enough height or talent to do any better. Never shirked a contest though.

I am not talking about hitting the guy. Drop your shoulder and make him pay for offering a shepherd. No raised elbow, nothing except to give the guy the knowledge that if he does it again, he will pay a physical price.

Yeah, that's a fair point, and he could do more, but I'm still not convinced it would make a huge difference in anything but a perception sense.

Well DAVO head up the Hume and stay there buddy !!!
You had your Chance today and once again shirked the issue when it mattered in the last Quarter, you @@@@ yourself.
We were right in front of it and I can assure you were weak.
Missed goals when we needed them and generally gave us nothing again.
Even the Chief on Triple MMM gave you worst on ground today mate

Hope the Nick Davis lovers saw what the club sees most of the time.
North supporters were saying how stiff they were with injuries and losing Edwards, bloody hell we had NICK DAVIS to carry again.

A poor night for Davo - at a crossroads I suspect. Back to Canberra next week I reckon - if you can't score goals AND you don't have a defensive game, your raison d'etre starts to look shaky.

Such glee in an underperforming player. So negative.

So much of footy is above the shoulders and it is axiomatic in footy - always offer a contest.

If the coaching group are serious about setting the right example for the next generation coming through, they'll send him back to Canberra and have a few guys run through him at training to remind him what it feels like.

Problem is not a perception, neither is it how much pressure he does or does not put on.

Problem is he just does not push himself hard enough to a) get himself to contests and b) make a difference when he gets to the few he does.

Sitting behind the goals today at ground level, the difference between Davis and someone who has the same skill level such as O'Keefe is remarkeable considering how hard O'Keefe works.

How is that Vespa bloke going in the reserves, next week against the Dogs we are going to need bloke who are willing to run until they drop to keep them under control. Davis sadly is not capable of doing this at present.

I liked his little tap on to Moore - shame he couldn't finish it.

Coming from the BEVO BASHER !!
Just face facts it why he fell out of favour at Collingwood and he is falling out with us. His pressure , chasing and team ethos is non existant.
The thread is about Davo and he was terrible today, you know it.
Had a great chance today on a weakened backline and on a player who has played a handful of games.
We had some other passengers today though this is the DAVO THREAD dude !!

True, and I think it's been shown that Roos and Davis are not compatible. Roos is not capable of getting the best from Davis and Davis is not willing or able to play to Roos' lockdown game plan, and Davis probably would have been a better player if he'd stayed at Collingwood.

Me too, that was a clever little tap. Pity Moore couldn't do more with it.

Actually - I'm not a Bevo basher. I think he's okay - very up and down - and a fringe player - I just object to Connolly's ridiculous comments.

I don't take glee from players underperforming, I simply comment on it. And when I do you get very upset!

Just face facts it why he fell out of favour at Collingwood
He didn't fall out of favour at Collingwood - they wanted to keep him.

He wasn't any more terrible than most of the team (and better than a few).

Had a great chance today on a weakened backline and on a player who has played a handful of games.
Yeah, I was disappointed he didn't do more, but as I say his confidence looks gone, which is not a surprise.

Very ordinary today. Let at tackle slip that ended up the other end for a goal in the 2nd.

And what was that first shot at goal called.
