Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

The Swans were @@@@ in the first half, but to my surprise the bummers didnt come out to play in the second and the Swans ran away with it.

Its good to finally see the Swans grind the opposition into the dirt even tho it was only the bummers.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Perhaps with 90 secs to go you should have yelled at him to get off the ground.

This does not constitute a "butchering". He closed down his opponents with a ruthless efficiency. He generally makes space in the defensive channell. What you call an uncontested possession is in fact making good position and running into an advantageous position. Uncontested possessions = good off ball positioning.

With Crouch and Mathews set to finish soon, Bevan may well have a role to play, but he will be at risk from any similar new player who arrives and isn't as limited.
Bevan has developed an offensive tackling technique which is just devastating. He generally gives his oppponent a metre and launches the tackle at the opponents hips. He has tremendous upper body strength and the best tackling technique in the competition. Shannon Grant is still having nightmares. In case you haven't noticed Crouch and Benny have already finished as senior players. Bevo is an important versatile player in the side. He is very good as a defensive forward, a run with mid and defensive pivot. If you can identify anyone on the list that currently or potentially can fill these roles, please tell. And give Roosey a bell.

Jolly should have led into the grandstand...?

It constitutes inefficient disposal when contested, which was my point.

It's not my definition. Uncontested possessions on the half back line are often not "making good position".

I was 10 metres from that and strangely enough I remember I turned to Reggi at the time and said "Jolly could have almost got a hand on that". The ball did finish well out, but it had some wicked late swing, probably due to the wind, which made it look a poorer kick than it was.

But, it did go OOBOTF so was a mistake no matter which way you gloss it.

It would be excusable/explainable/whatever if it is not something he does under pressure regularly, but he too frequently does.

Is Connolly Bevan's mum in disguise ? He has always been a good tackler - i was at a pre-season game in 2001 (circa) at vic park where he tackled didak and drove him into the ground and Brad Seymour who was the runner was yelling out great tackle bevo

his tackling is great. but so what. he loses small forwards all the time. he coughs up the ball and gets ahead of himself when he has time - remember brisbane at the gabba last year anyone. he lost two left footers around the packs in the roos game. he is better than matthews because he is more team oriented and crouch because he is not injured. but lets not overstate his imact.

He will always be at best a good ordinary footballer. He is not the messiah.

a team is made up of many different parts. he adds one small bit.
