Vespa's best passage IMO was the leadup to the Barry Hall goal.

From memory, he made a poor handpass in front of the O'Reilly but followed it up and was then involved in a chain of handballs and short kicks, finally getting the ball in the centre running into 50. Unfortunately it doesn't show up that good on TV and the replay concentrates on Halls mark and goal, no replay of the leadup at all.

The big question is, was Vespa passing to Hall ???

Just quietly, I was right behind it and my mate and I have no doubt the way the ball sort of ducked left and dived that he was having a shot but didn't get it cleanly off the boot. Shhhh, don't tell anybody, especially BBBH

He better not get dropped this week.

There is an article in the paper version of SMH today where Roos suggests players will be picked on form over a number of seasons rather then one off games. Reading between the lines, Vez is gone!

        From the Australian:

Patrick Veszpremi, who came into the side for O'Keefe, kicked four goals and will be hard done by if he is dropped for next week's final.

But coach Paul Roos said at last some players, notably Luke Ablett and Nick Malceski, who picked up 27 disposals, had come back into the team and found form.

I have to say the expectation of the crowd when Vesz gets the ball is like nothing I've heard at Sydney games for many years. If anything it is similar to the reaction Buddy gets from the Hawthorn faithful. It's very exciting to have such a player at the Swans.

That is the most stupid thing I have ever heard!!!

You pick them on current form, not on what they have done in the past!

Definitely having a shot. It was a big effort in leadup and just didn't have the legs to get there.

When Patty came off after the almighty bounce goal, grabbed his drink and walked past Bay Hatley he was given a huge ovation- the loudest I've heard for a player coming off mid-game in quite a while.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

He must have found it and kept it hidden cause it certainly wasn't on show on Saturday night.

I don't know whom Roosy has in mind but I'd be astonished if The Vesz got dropped. He is a genuine player and has to be in our top 22.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
