The North Melbourne footy club is a miniscule suburban club that has no place in an elite national league. When is the AFL going to wake up to itself and send North to the VFL where it belongs
Suggest you complain to the club and the AFL. It is ridiculous that non-members get better seats than members.
    Bring it on!

It has been said (in todays SMH) that so far roughly around 16,000 tickets have been sold - if thats true thats appalling - I doubt there will be huge numbers of walk ups on the night either. They could have had it at the SCG with only the top level of the new stand being empty - they would have at least got 30000 to that without question.

That's terrible. Whilst I am normally mindful of the dour crowds of the past and am usually ecstatic with any crowds over 30k, anything under 40k for a final at Homebush, even one against North in a year we haven't been creating a lot of interest, would be absolutely terrible.

I don't watch a great deal of TV, but I haven't seen a single ad for attending the game.

            Only 16k sold

Richard Hinds reporting only 16k tickets sold to Tues. night. Sounds like they may as well close both top decks. Have struggled to get any media this week as well.
We are going to struggle to get to 45k on Sat. night.

No publicity or hype ,ridiculous prices and live TV coverage do not mix well for large crowds.

A few people I normally take along casually had no interest at all when they realised the prices, only the hardcore among them were willing to go.

Perhaps the Hinds article will motivate a few though, it's an old rugby league media trick especially for Origin to talk about poorly it is selling to motivate people to get out there and get a ticket.

The prices are ludicrous. Am I imagining things or are some areas being charged as Premium for this game usually only standard?

Plus it is ridiculous that when buying tickets you cannot request areas - all their computer can do is best available which is different to different people.

The AFL set the ticketing prices ... not the swans.

You have to beat them first to prove the Swans are more 'elite'. Remember 1996 Royboy?

This final should be at the SCG

If ever a final should be played at the SCG, this is it. North will be lucky to pull 2 men and a dog. A full SCG, even with a half finished stand, would of rocked, and given our boys a decided advantage. A half full ANZ stadium, will be it's usual underwelming, atmosphereless, self.

Kanga, I hate to be the one to point out that 1996 was 12 years ago (and an awful lot has changed since then), and that the bushrats also have to beat the swans to prove they are more "elite". I think it's fair to say that we've seen more finals action than the bushrats over those twelve years.

Even you've got to admit deep, deep down that the bushrats are still lucky to be running around.

The AFL were hoping we'd be playing the colliwobbles, fill the stadium and that they'd be able to put more money into their coffers.

As it stands, the AFL are going to lose money on this match.

Yes should be at the scg.

Only positive about playing it at anz is the fact that the shin-BONERS haven't played there before.

But I doubt even that dog will show up.
