    KANGA ...

How many times have the bushrats played at Stadium Australia/Telstra Stadium/ANZ Stadium?

    I forgot.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I've scored a corporate box invitation so thankfully I'll be kicking back with free food and booze.

You reckon? I still think they'll get 45000 to the game. That is ok surely.

Having been away from the place for a year it really hit me how the SCG very much dictates the way we play. The fact we ALWAYS go wide is an advantage on the ground but it is basically as wide as it is long. The fact we can play a stoppage-based game works so well here as the ground is that 10-15 m shorter than other grounds, meaning we can clog up the space then run wide into free space ourselves.

But the fact is the AFL is a for-profit industry. They wants as much revenue from matches as possible. They can generate more revenue at Homebush than they can at a still largely-unfinished SCG.

Still, from what I saw on Saturday the SCG IS starting to make steps at addressing a lot of the things I used to hate about it as a venue. Once they bulldose the MA Noble Bradman Messenger & O'Reilly Stands and make them all the same level like the Gabba, we will have an excellent venue for spectators at long last.

Zero times - so according to some guys on BF we have a perfect record.

If North are good enough they will win, but if they show anything like the miserable effort last week the Kanga's will get flogged (and deservedly so)....

That said, either team are unlikely to make it through the next week's game...

FWIW Annie - NMFC deserve to be running around the park over 34,000 memberships seem to say so. Overall the team has been outperforming given we are picked to bottom out more often than your mob.

I love this article......brings back golden memories from those 12 years ago!!

            Kanga,

22,000 last week at the home of Football on a Saturday afternoon , Shannon Grants 300th game and Top 4 there for the taking while your team is at the top of its game. Your loyal supporters couldnt be bothered to turn up while they are in red hot form.
Yes our support in Sydney has dwindled as it does when we are struggling as we have , though our support in Melbourne has always been good since the move. Remember the Swans Vs Roos game earlier this year ( 50/50 easily)
Mate your loyal supporters are ordinary at best . You blokes never took oppurtunity of your success in the 90s whatsoever. We have and have been pretty good ( 12 from 13 now )

So 34,000 members mate mean Jack , when they dont go.
"Where was the famous Shinboner Spirit" of your supporters last week.??
Gee , I hope we give it to you blokes as you are a good side ,and we are not the side we were, though to many riding the Old Bandwagon from there homes as they always have.
Thats why the VFL is now OFFICIALLY getting closer for the Roos every year now Kanga.

I'd hazard a guess that he was mourning the demise of the royboys in 1996.

You only have 34,000 members because you are in deep @@@@ and your team needs bailing out. It will only get worse. How many members did you have in 2007 or 2006??

RE the article ... this weekend we bring back "BOO-A-ROO"

There's only one team in Sydney .... Carey is a wanker.

                  Ah... the memories.

"It was on for young and old,'' Miller said. "We won the flag in 1999 but our games against the Swans in '99 and 2000 were unbelievably emotional. The AFL was giving us $1 million to do it and another half-a-million to make it work.''

Kelly vividly remembers the Swans striking back with the "Boo a Roo'' campaign at North Melbourne "home'' game at the SCG.

"We's been in Sydney for a while and done a lot of ground work to promote the game and our club and the Kangaroos were looking to come in a capitalise on that and pinch our supporters,'' Kelly said.

"We reckon it was our turf and we were prepared to protect it.''

And when asked about the Swans first playoff game against the Kangaroos since grand final Kelly added: "It would certainly be nice to get one off the Kangaroos in a final''.
I hope the boys are listening Kels.

The shinboner spirit died of shame on the floor of Glen Archers dunny. More boner than shin i'm afraid. They have no place in a national comp.

Old Mother North went to the cupboard to get Wayne Carey a bone, when she bent over Carey took over, and gave her a bone of his own.

While I agree that North are about as relevant as Tony Jones' views on football, I still do not understand what 'shinboner' spirit actually is.

I mean shinboners are butchers, right? Or abattoir workers or something, yeah?

So North players have slaughter-house worker spirit? Brilliant. What a legacy.

                              Back to the subject....

Anyone know how many tickets have been sold?

The AFL have been terrible promoting this game.
Roos was on radio saying we needed more support...

Hope it's not a stadium devoid of any atmosphere.

The media were gleeful this morning when they said 16,000 - Roosey was bagging out the AFL on the radio saying that he has players who are prepared to hand out free tickets in the Pitt Street Mall at lunchtime to bolster the crowd if the AFL make the tickets available.

                                Go Roosey!!

The game definately should have been at the SCG (but our advantage is that the bushrats have never played ANZ).
