If ROK goes to the Hawks and we only get pick 16, then I will be disgusted Not at the swans but at that selfish little pig bastard ROK.

Surely ROK is worth Mark Williams. Surely the Hawks can spare a forward to trade for him. Hawthorn seem to think that they are gonna get ROK at a bargain. After those bastards cost us the 2006 premiership by refusing to trade Spida to us at the end of 2005, I think we should be playing hard ball with them.

Agree we should play hard ball - but I reckon we will cave in like we normally do - I really dont like trade week. I feel for the players (ROK excluded because he wants to go) who are put up for trade who really want to stay where they are, but their clubs dont want them.

Apparently talks have just hit a hurdle for the 45th time this week.

That moron Pelchen is saying pick 16 is off limits. That's pretty rich considering he wanted pick 15 for Spider Everitt.

Precisely what I was thinking, if Hawthorn want O'Keefe we should play hard-ball like they did with Everitt. Sure, O'Keefe can go but maybe next year or better yet the year after. Then Ryan will only have a couple of good years left in him.

The trade period should be shortened to about 2 days IMO. There's no way in hell 5 days are needed.

This week has been absolutely ridiculous. Part of the reason why clubs always reach stalemates is because there is too much time to discuss things. Seriously how the hell does it take 4/5 days to work out a suitable deal?

I am in favour of shafting Hawthorn and ROK by letting him walk for nothing. If they won't give up pick 16 then we need to take a stand.

They should just introduce free agency as trading of proven players has turned into an absolute joke over the past two or three years.

keep the draft for the unproven younger players as this allows the talent spread to occur but trade week has become a farce.

I wouldnt do any special deals with Hawthorn. If they dont want to play the game properly then let O keefe go into the draft and possibly get picked up by melbourne, Port , freo or someone/ anyone below hawthorne.
