ROK has done nothing wrong, though we are told there was a verbal commitment. I am sure he has been ill advised by his "manager", but it is time to move on. Lets hope he stays; he is a professional and will do his best for his employer, and lets hope that "employer" will be the Swans.
ROK - Re signs with swans for 4 years. (Confirmed)

Said not much
IF he could be guarenteed to get to a Melbourne club...yes, he would nominate for the Draft
He didnt want the Swans to get nothing, i.e. he would have preferred to be traded
He will announce his decision next weekRed and white till I dieComment

Richard Hinds has a say ...
O'Keefe finds tough game
So O'Keefe has been left in an awkward position. He must either put a hefty price on his head and hope to get to a preferred team in the pre-season draft or make an embarrassing backdown and return to the Swans, who have increased their initial three-year contract offer to more than $450,000 a season.
Petroro yesterday declined to discuss reports that Carlton, one of the teams that had told O'Keefe it would pursue him vigorously in trade week, had withdrawn its interest. Nor would he say whether O'Keefe had decided to go into the pre-season draft or accept the Swans' revised offer.
Either way, it is a case likely to ensure a few players who think the grass looks greener will check twice before jumping the fence for fear they are being fooled.
Indeed.
That's a very expensive Captain Magoo.
Swans should have told him to get stuffed and offered him $380,000 per season.

That's actually a good piece by Richard Hinds.
Here's what ROK himself had to say in the Tele today. I'm still hoping he stays. It will be much easier to forgive.

"(Coach Paul Roos and I) spoke pretty closely through the whole period, and he's obviously said whatever the decision, if you want to come back that's fine and all that sort of stuff, so he's been really great throughout the whole process."
Kinda like when the Liberal Party says to Brendan Nelson that "you're doing a top job, keep it up mate, we're behind you 150% all the way".
I think it's more important you win the fans back traitor.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

It is accepted by most that the club is free to trade or delist unwanted players in an effort to improve its position. That's the business of a football club.
Why is it so wrong for a player to do the same?
If RO'K felt he was being treated fairly by the club he would never have appointed a manager. He has attempted to improve his position, with, at this stage, pretty ordinary results. But in reality he has not done anything different to what the club did in delisting Schneider for instance.Comment

I really do not understand this attitude (and this is not a go at you Annie, as you are certainly not the only one to have expressed it).

For me, it was a bit of a shock is all.
When I read the small paragraph on the second back page in the paper a month ago, where it said that "senior players at Sydney are not happy", my first reaction was WTF??? How can you not be happy at Sydney? We don't have the pressure that the "fish bowl" states put their footy players through. From my persepective (on the couch), it's much easier to be a professional AFL'er in Sydney.
When duck butt said he wanted to jump ship, seriously, I thought he'd be the last person to do it. I was thinking more along the lines of Davo, maybe Blind Barry (even though he has less trade value than ROK) - but not ROK. I seriously thought he was happy here.
I'm a bit disappointed in him.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

O'Keefe sent up the garden path!!!
This article if it hasn't been noted elsewhere illustrates the low levels that clubs are willing to stoop to in order to improve their club: We and O'Keefe have clearly had it impressed on us not to trust anything the Hawthorns and Carltons of this world say:

An interesting outcome of this is that despite not receiving any meaningful offers from other clubs, ROK could end up with a higher package.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
