Can you blame someone for bombing away outside 50 when the game plan had yielded 4 goals in the game? Why people cite this incident as an example of Davis' selfishness is beyond me!

Who is this Bevan with no football brain/nous you speak of?

Surely not the Bevan who finished 6th in the B&F.

The others finishing behind him are a worry then.

That means all parties concerned will be in Nursing Homes.

hammo I suspect ROKL was being facetious as some people have criticised Davis(y) as being selfish and loose in other games.

BTW ROKL what does IPO stand for?
            Bring it on!

I know. I'm not having a go at ROKL, just the nuff nuffs who call Davis selfish.

Nick had too much flair, personality and ability obviously - the others couldnt compete, so if he didnt conform to the majority and become dull, non descript and toe the oh so boring party line then he had no hope.

Anyway if he ends up at another club - I will still applaud him, I'm sure the public humiliation that he endured from the Swans will stand him in good stead in the future.

Roos better hope that neither of his boys cop the same treatment should they ever make it to AFL level.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

There were several games where he kicked at least 4 goals.

Essendon Round 11 2003. 4 goals (Sydney's first win over the Bombers for 6 years)

Brisbane Round 1 2004. 4 goals before 1/2 time. Unfortunately he was injuried in the second half

Melbourne Round 5 2004. 4 goals Davis' return game from Round 1 that season

Richmond Round 22 2004, 5 goals plus Brownlow votes

                    Hawthorn Round 1 2005, 4 goals

                    Kangaroos Round 21 2005, 5 goals

Hawthorn Round 22 2005, 4 goals. (In fact there was a patch of 4 games in row, ultimately concluding with THAT last 3 second goal at the SCG in the Semi Final against the Cats, where Davis kicked 16 goals)

                    Hawthorn Round 9 2006, 4 goals

Fremantle Round 13 2006, 4 goals, (Davis' comeback after being dropped)

Richmond Round 17 2007, 4 goals plus Brownlow votes

Hawthorn Round 22 2007, 4 goals. (He had a great record against the Hawks, 18 goals in 6 games)

OK he wasn't Plugger, but he was a very handy extra forward, who, at his peak, had the best kick in the game.

Yep. That mark sprung immediately to mind.

I also loved that tackle tackle tackle when his shoe fell off agst Carlton in '05. Caused a spill and ROK scooped on the ball and kicked a goal!
                      Ahhh Nick, if only!

The other day, thinking of what might have been, I went back and watched the 2005 highlights DVD again. Davis features quite a bit. Surely it was his most consistent year. It was more than just that qrtr of football that he should be remembered as a Swan for.

Can you recall the little champ taking an:
                            1. overhead
                            2. off the ground
                            3. contested(at least one opponent)

mark. I can't. If you do let us know. Waiting.

The Bevanator was ranked equal 6th in the clubs players rankings this season. In front of Craig Bolton. And a mile in front of your cause celebre. O cruel world.
