Membership Prices

3) This year I was able to miss a few games (due to work) and still make the most out of the season ticket. 09 membership doesn't afford that same luxury, hence ill only be buying tickets to the games I will definitely be able to make."In some ways we?re less predictable to ourselves and sometimes that can be detrimental because we don?t really know where we?re going" - P.RoosComment

Is it though?
We all know that there is a tendency to be vocal when you have something to complain about and stay silent when everything is all good.
I think we can safely assume that the following people are going to be silently content because their prices have gone down.

This thread is way too civil. Thought I'd come to the wrong site.
Silver stand (upper Messenger) ticket holder, with platinum ANZ seats. Feeling for the dedicated members who find themselves with a hefty increase for their much loved seats, while internally saying "woot!", though I'll probably spend the savings on some crappy merchandise anyway.
Easy to say, but I think if they'd classified that area as Gold, we'd just be stumping up the extra cash after venting my spleen on this board :-)Comment

Just playing devils advocate for a moment, would you be doing that if we had a realistic shot at playing in the GF?Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

Yeah I would, coz I forked out for prem club the past years and gave my numbers to my friends as I couldn't attend, and just cant afford to push it this year. My budget is a tiny bit tighter this year with cost of living increasing (my rent just went up $200 a month) as well as fuel and all that is in between.
I buy m y raffle tickets and merchandise every year and I always bring random friend sto games and cover their tickets coz I want them to come along and experience my love of the game, but this year something has got to give, and prem club is it.Comment

I love my seats, so after consideration my protest at the price rise will be dropping the Premiership Club which I have had since it was introduced in 2004.
Allowed me to organise very cheap flights and accommodation for both GFs, but I would still feel confident about getting a ticket if we managed to get into the 09 decider - I actually haven't met any Full Club Members who missed out in either year.
I joined as a member in the early 90s and continually get letters thanking me for that which is nice, but nearly every letter talks about "rewarding" members like me, but this never happens. I am not really interested in rewards, but I would like a year where my membership doesn't rise, I can't remember the last time there wasn't at least a small rise.Comment

Yes, I remember Carlton and Barassi's 500th game as player/coach.10100111001 ;-)Comment

I agree there's a difference between maximising members and maximising revenue but it's an equation the club has to balance. And if they weren't making any money out of some categories of membership (eg season tickets) it is possible it makes sense to let those go, if that is the price. Of course this is guesswork - none of us knows the ins and outs of price and profitability without access to detailed financial information.
I for one, think this is a matter of poor timing on behalf of the club. Above CPI price rises under the current circumstances ain't good policy. Having said that, I am not across the details. He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

I guess now that the "Red Zone"has come down in price and assuming the membership benefits havent changed from previous years (I havent been bothered to read the fine print)then that means the MA Noble & Ladies stands should be packed to the rafters in 2009.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
