Daniel Harris would be one worth asking the question about.

I think he will have a big season under a new coach whether thats at the Roos or elsewhere. Was never a favourite of Laidley.

Tougher player to replace B1 and Kirk in the hard ball gets.
He ate more cheese, than time allowed

Except hasn't he played more as a forward (other than ruck) in the reserves?

Currie is being groomed as a ruck but there's no reason why he can't break out as a Kurt Tippett type player up forward - both are 200cm and athletic.

Patience is the key. He spent his first year after being drafted in Melbourne remember.

interesting option ... absolutely ideal for us

but 1 big problem ... we have nothing to offer.

Pick 6 surely off the table. hard to see anything else we have that would tempt port ... except good old okeefe ... which i doubt they would want a player for player swap ... and okeefe would probably not be interested at all in that. But would be interesting karma

really the only players we have of any decent (less than draft pick 40) would be

        goodes
        okeefe
        mcveigh
        grundy
        white
        vez
        hanneberry (maybe)
        jolly
        c bolton
        j bolton (maybe)

i really dont see us trading any of these ... would we make a really hard call on someone like vez or even jolly. problem with trading vez is that he could be a really really good player and we would probably struggle to get a top 20 pick for him. Jolly could be an option, especially if we somehow ended up with seaby ... he would surely generate a bit of interest from some of the higher clubs with not much ruck depth ... western bulldogs, collingwood, bombers (maybe)

anyways, long story short ... i really struggle to see how we are going to trade for much this year. players like ablett, buchannan, moore etc... just arent going to generate much interest ... maybe 4th round at best, with which we arent going to be able to use to get someone the class of burgoyne.

          S.Burgoyne = Pre-season draft.

Put a BIG price on his head and grab him at Pick 5.

The Burgoyne story sounds like the Akermanis School of Contract Management 101.

Lesson 1 - [insert name] and link to Swans.

people always say "he could just put a big price on his head and then go where he wants"

              but has this ever happened???

Preseason draft always seems to be fringe players who no one wants that badly or someone like nick stevens who just goes to the team with the first pick.

I really admire the Crows. For a team on the up what about some of their players like Brad Symes and Richard Douglas that can't quite break in to the Best 22?

                    Paul Hasleby

Well it looks like Hasleby is looking East for a new start. How do you reckon he`d go at the Swans? Looks like the Dockers will only give him a 1 year contract. I think he`d fit in just great.

I agree. He'd fit in perfectly with Leo, MOL, Crouchy, Fosdike and co...

Which youngster would you drop to give him a run?

He's a quality player, but not really what we need.

                            Ablett or Buchanan. Maybe Playfair.

No. Good player, definitely, but not the sort we need. We already have the extractors, Jude Bolton, Kirk and O'Keefe are all good clearance winners, while Bird is developing into the role fantastically well, and Jack has also shown aptitude there when freed up (which has been all too rare). Age is also of course a big factor against him.
