Everitt trade precedent is Sydney's strongest card. Would be helpful if another club showed genuine interest, even for picking him up for nothing in the PSD. Melbourne? Richmond? Freo?

Now that Fevola is in the mix puts even more cats amongst the pigeons.
If the Bulldogs could somehow work Fevola into a red, white and blue jumper, they WOULD be serious contenders.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

Salary would seem to be the problem for the bulldogs unless they suddenly retire a few and trade a few others out.
I would imagine the weagles might have room for him, they certainly lack a key forward and it would seem that it doesnt matter in WA if you go around town acting as a drunken idiot. In fact you pretty much seem to get the run of the town. Perfect fit.Comment

However, he is unlikely to fit under their salary cap. Also, Fev leaving now makes the Blues a serious option for picking up Hall in the PSD, putting more pressure on the Dogs to do a trade. I think it's fair to say the Blues are 1-2 years from being a serious Premiership contender. Having Hall plonked at FF for the next 2 years might be the sort of thing that would get them across the line.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

If Carlton are able to do a deal to get Fevola to either Collingwood or St Kilda (his stated preferred destinations) it means that they have the salary cap room and possible second round picks to seriously look at Hall as a stop gap measure for the next couple of years while they are mounting a charge at top 4.
The Doggies unless they cut deeply (ie Aker and probably Johnson) are not capable of fitting Fev into their salary cap at this asking rate.
Mr Fantasy man will be monitoring how this deal goes, because if they off load Fev then it's going to change what the Doggies will want to do with Hall very quickly.

The Dogs could presumably get Fev under their cap by holding firm on the Lake negotiations, offer significantly reduced 1 year deals to Aker and Eagleton (who'll want to stay to play in a side challenging with a gun FF) and trading a couple of middle tier players (Everitt and one other). Fev's contract could be back-loaded until after Johnno has retired.
Anyway, I think the development of the last few hours mean we won't be hearing from Fantasia for a while.

The source SEN had 5 minutes before the offical announcement suggested that Fev had indicated St Kilda or Collingwood as his two preferred destinations.
Not offical but the source had the story out 5 minutes before the offical release by CFC then Fev's management company.
This could spook the Dog's to drop down to a third rounder for Hall if they don't decide to target Fev.

Would the Doggies go into next year without Aker to give themselves room for Fev? I mean he is a very good footballer but is he a vital cog? If it came down to it I reckon they could go on without him."Fortunately, this is the internet, so knowing nothing is no obstacle to having an opinion!." Beerman 18-07-2017Comment

The bulldogs are positioning themselves for a 3rd round pick, we want 2nd round, they're saying we will give you 4th round, hoping we will say allright, allright, we'll take the 3rd round. I'd be satisfied with a 3rd round pick and a 'bit part' player, not sure who.
All this crap coming from Fantasia about we'll pick him up in the PSD for nothing is all bluff, there is no way they would risk him going there, I think they have pick 14, way down the pecking order, all we have to do to call his bluff is say, 'if we cant get a suitable trade for Barry Hall during trade week, we might re-draft him in the PSD, I think our pick is higher than the Bulldogs'.

and you would have to think Baz would come around to the idea of Judd drilling the ball at his chest.

It sounds to me like Fev wants a premiership and that's his driving factor in choosing a club.10100111001 ;-)Comment

St Kilda no
Collingwood would be a very strong side with Fev. Their forwards can tend to go missing at times, Fev would, I am thinking, be more consistent."Fortunately, this is the internet, so knowing nothing is no obstacle to having an opinion!." Beerman 18-07-2017Comment

There is one simple way for the Bullies to fit Hall into their salary cap and pay him what he wants.
Have Slater and Gordon appoint him as a lawyer.Comment
