Is it Pick 36 or 46? Since the article states 46 but this thread states 36?

Happy to see the back of him and his scrag of a missus.

It's obvious things have changed in his family situation.

Roosy has said as much without going into specifics which are certainly not the business of anybody other than the Jolly family and the club.

Agree, no matter what you think of him going mid stream in a 4 year contract the signs all point to the end of his marriage if he didn't get to Melbourne to give it a shot.

His form tapered off to the end of the season, which was partly being over worked but these discussions with the club started well before the end of the year and no doubt the issues were having an influence on him at that stage.

Hope everything goes well for the future and luckily we have been able to limit the damage through some good trading to get 14 and Mumford for the other pick.

Wouldn't it be appropriate for us to just make something up now that he plays for the Pies???

So will Collingwood fans call him traitor and treat him with the same disdain that they treated Nick Davis?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Pick 14 and 46 for Jolly sucks. Collingwood have done very well out of this. For us its like selling your house for just a little more than you bought it for 5 years ago, knowing that overall you've lost on what you think its now worth and all the interest and renovations you've paid on it. Jolly is one of the best ruckman in the country and still has a few good years in him. I think he was worth a top 5 pick minimum.

                      we get screwed again

Perhaps we need a "trader" more than a player. Seems to me we lost again with 48 or whatever being added by Collingwood. This morning on SEn it appears the Dons may be in the race for Burgoyne with picks 10 and 16. What a joke.

Exactly. Thank you 3B. And I need to say that personal attack on a player's family member is not acceptable.

The club has done its best in trading Jolls, as requested. They were given a fair amount of notice it would appear, and have corralled Seaby and are working on Mumford. They now have a couple of reasonable picks with which to manouvre. Works for me. Hope it all comes together.

Just as well they have some intelligent people working behind the scenes, as I seriously doubt some of our members!

Looks like it almost didn't happen.

Pies secure Jolly from Sydney - FOX SPORTS - Fox Sports

The trade almost collapsed over Collingwood's reluctance to give up a second draft selection. Swans coach Paul Roos was so angry he booked himself on a flight home from Melbourne last night only to cancel at the 11th hour.

"I was coming back to Sydney because enough was enough and I thought there wasn't much point going through the exercise," Roos said.

"But I got the call early evening and decided to can the flight. We just wanted what was fair and reasonable and we think this is a win-win."

...but we didn't get the 2nd rounder.

Fair enough things did change with Jolly and his family's situation, but to strictly nominate just 1 Melbourne club only after being so desperate to move back home doesn't sit right with me.

Him and his manager certainly made things more difficult for all parties.
