after reading the fresh blood article nov 1 by Roo's.......... the players in bold sound like they have first shot at the possies he indicated

ie he has confirmed that ROK is in the midfield and Goodes at CHF and White at FF and McGlynn taking over Buchanon's role.......and Jack playing upfront.....still not sure if we should be simply easing Hannebery from forward pocket?? or just throw him into the HF line??? but the kid is quality and could keep rising faster than expected......

    F: Bradshaw, White, Hannebery

    HF: Jack, Goodes, McGlynn

Midfield: Rok, Seaby, Kirk, Bolton, McVeigh, Smith

    HB: Malceski, Bolton, Shaw

    B: Mattner, RLT, Grundy

Bench: Mumford, Barlow, Kennedy, Moore?............but so many will compete

PS - a forward line like that makes me think that at a smaller oval like the SCG we could really dominate with White, Goodes and Bradshaw in their one on ones

ROK, Malceski, Mattner, Shaw etc will have a field day feeding the ball in !

The thing I like about this list is that if anyone underperforms, we have got suitable replacements in the reserves. Currie can replace seaby/mumford, mcglynn can replace jack/moore, MOD Kennedy, Barlow, Ablett can replace any mid, etc.
McGlynn is a better finisher than Moore and will get the ball just as much if not more(excuse the pun). His skill level is higher(Remember the serve Moore got from Shaw?) and he is not lacking in pace or tenacity.I would swap them.

I don't think we've ever tradd a player in and then not played him (if fit). On that basis the five traded in will start. Assuming Kennelly is on his way back, he'd be in too.

          FF Bradshaw White Vespa
          HF Barlow Goodes Jack
C Kennedy Kirk McVeigh J Bolton McGlynn Seaby
          HB Kennelly C Bolton Shaw
          FB Mattner LRT Grundy
          Bench Mumford Bird Smith Hanneberry

Sure leaves out some good players which is looxury.

Reckon we need to find a spot for Barlow and leave him there to hopefully cement a permanent place. He would be a difficult match up in a fwd line already containing Goodes, White and Bradshaw.

Jack just has to be freed up to roam the fwd lines.

Liking the run out of defence!

Oooops, sorry about that ROK Of course he's the first guy in the midfield.

I must have got too excited about the number of options we may have

Now have I stumbled on something here? O'Keefe, guy ....... maybe we need to pick up the talented delisted Bulldog Guy O'Keefe?

I'm no sure about Kennelly and Richards and I also think that Kirk may just struggle a bit more this year. Last season against some of the faster midfields he was caught out for speed often spending more time on the bench cause there wasn't a match up for him.

I feel teddy will be there, probably starting on the interchange.

well with Tag back it has all changed and for the better my guess is this team will start but there is so much genuine competition this year with so many young guys who have tasted Seniors that it is the hardest year by far at guessing who will play where......

Can't see Grundy being left out of the starting team, RP.
                              Or Bevan for that matter.

I'd like to see Meredith get a go, but who do you leave out??

Thornton would have to be the weakest link in that team though.

And I glad you included Hanners, he's a definite too, IMHO, Captain.
