When I look at who is left out we are a strong unit in 2010!!!
Who would have thought the offseason would be so exciting!

FB: Grundy, C Bolton, Shaw
HB: Malceski, LRT, Tadhg
C: Goodes, J Bolton, O'Keefe
HF: McVeigh, White, Moore
FF: Jack, Bradshaw, McGlynn
R: Seaby, Kirk, Bird
Bench: Mumford, Mattner, Smith, Meredith
Em: Richards, Hannerbury/Vezpremi/Kennedy/Bevan
- Man, so many players starting with 'M'
- I do not rate Richards very highly and would prefer that he play very few games
- Everyone rates Hanners really, really highly on here - I only saw a few of his games (Apparently when he was tiring, which you'd expect in his 1st season), I prefer Meredith from what I've seen.
- Smith > Bevan
- Has Jesse played much true CHF for the ressies? I don't know what his endurance would be like, but I expect he can play in that 50-80 metre zone from goals, big target coming out of defense.
- I don't like Moore as a forward, I think his best work would be done on-ball if his endurance can build up.
- I don't think Goodes is THAT good as a forward, much prefer him in the middle of the ground.
And no doubt Vez will get at least 15 games, what with injuries/form

only major change from above is jbolton to the bench: close to being his last year. eski to return to form and go on the wing. o'keefe to hff. injuries, "blooding" and patchy form from others will see emergencies getting plenty of gametimethen again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i knowComment

Think this is a vry solid team. Lots of run across the backline and on the wings. It's also subject to Mal getting back some form. Might need another tall which could mean Hanners out and Richards in.

my gut feeling is that Roo's is stirring up the expectations of players to allow them to reinvent their possibilities for 2010.........let the players dare to dream......ie like saying maybe Mattner pushing into the midfield etc
yet for the majority of the game there are so many better options that Mattner in the midfield i feel.......id rather he plays tight and allow Tag and Shaw to fly out of the HB or Back lines doing this......I also think that Shaw needs to be free and counter attack in te backs allows him to mark up then break free.........in the midfield he will get tagged and I think this will frustrate him and we will loose his explosion from the backs
BUT either way who knows.............we have some many adaptable players that they will get plenty of game time as "midfielders" at stages of the game which suits our generally tight perimeters we maintain to the ball and breakdowns"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Can't see Grundy being left out of the starting team, RP.
Or Bevan for that matter.
I'd like to see Meredith get a go, but who do you leave out??
Thornton would have to be the weakest link in that team though.
And I glad you included Hanners, he's a definite too, IMHO, Captain. The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment
