Tadhg will probably play first, but I am waiting to see if his shoulder is up for it. I hope it is.

Who would you remove for Barlow?
Shaw, Mattner, Richards, Hannerbery, Jack, Vespa, White, Bird, Kennedy, Eski, Grundy?
Surely he wouldn't replace Smith, B2, Hyphen, McVeigh, ROK, Goodes, White, Mumford, Kirk, B1 or Seaby?

Moore could conceivably take Vespa's spot.

Barlow certainly isn't a walk-up start. Would need to play well in the NAB cup/practice matches to play round 1.

Kennelly on the other hand is a certainty, provided he's fit.

This thread is unbelievable. During he 2009 season, who could have imagined us being so laden with potential starters in 2010?

I can't ever remember us having so much cover for all positions.

I just want to see the leagues most exciting forward line in red and white in 2010. Give me Bradshaw, Whites, Goodes for targets, Jack, TDL, Vespa, Barlow for zipzap.

Looks like plenty of ball coming out of the middle to feed that lot

As I said I think you could have any number of players in the Bird, Meredith, Hannebury spots...but I rate those 3 above the rest - including Vespa. I particularly rate Meredith. Possibly the most composed debutant we've had over the past few years.

I remember one instance where he marked outside the forward line at about a 45 deg angle. He backed up thinking about passing off and 2-3 senior players just pointed at the posts. He proceeded to slot it from 55.

I hope he can develop into a damaging HFF....he - well I guess everyone, is looking at some hot competition.

I agree about Kenelly as stated earlier. What I wanted to say is that I think Roosey will put Barlow in the starting 22. He is literally burning up the track in pre-season training and will be super fit. The Club has already invested a lot of game time in him.I sense its now or never for him and he is determined to crack a regular spot in the team.I didn't pick him in my team because I agree about his need to prove himself.I note a few years ago before they became champions it was Kirk, then Mc Veigh who aced pre-season and then went on to greater things. Its a big omen! Man if he comes on to his potential what a team we will have!

I am just staggered that so many of you consider Barlow a walk up start.

Aside from a big tank, he doesn't have much going for him at all, namely his uncanny ability to take short steps and avoid contests.

Considering the depth we now have, I believe this will be his last year on the list. He is so overrated on this forum it's not funny.

                    Totally agree Brett.
As far as I am concerned he will replace Ablett as my whipping boy and as the bain of my football existance.
He is the most frustrating player left on our list.
I would rather have a team full of Martys and Teds who bust their gut EVERY game then this half hearted joker.

I see glimpses of the brilliant on ocasions with Barlow but drowned in too much mediocrity and lack of application/concentration.

He has the attributes to be a very difficult match up for oppositions so let's give Barlow a fixed position and a clear set of instructions and see if he can apply himself to finally get it together. I reckon leave him to run amok on a HFF.

If he can ge it together it will be "hold on for the ride", if he can't then he's delist fodder next year.

Maybe the preseason he's putting in indicates the penny has dropped.

Barlow should be placed on the wing and given the first 6 games to cement his spot.

I just don't see these flashes of brillaince at all.

Modern football asks for a HFF to provide enormous amounts of forward pressure, I just can't see Barlow ever doing that.

That is extremely insulting to Davis.
