It's quite telling that Moore and McGlynn have the second and third highest average score assists at the club (behind Goodes, who is first, and excluding O'Dwyer, who is first outright but has only played one game).

I would bring in Jetta & TDL for the injured Smith & McVeigh the extra leg speed would be handy for the open spaces of the MCG.

A player who averages 4 goals a game would land up with close to 90 for the season. Given we haven't had anyone capable of doing that since Plugger retired, it is probably safe to say we don't have anyone at the moment - certainly not anyone in the "small forward" mold. Even an average of 3 goals a game is something only the very best smallish forwards can do. Beyond Milne, le Cras and Betts, I can't think of any in the AFL who look capable of that - unless you include taller "non-key" forwards like Steve Johnson.

A return of 2 goals a game - 40 ish if they play the whole season - from someone like Moore would be a more than adequate return, especially if they are also creating goals and providing forward line pressure. He hasn't delivered that but is possibly capable of getting close, especially if he can keep his fitness close to peak levels.

Agree Liz, this is why he keeps getting a game.

Tonight will be a big one to see who is available for team selection. Roos was clever with the positional ambush last week, out of injury necessity, but it's unlikely he'll get away with it again.

Did like Shaw up forward and Goodes starting at the centre for the bounce downs then moving forward it's working against the mediocre teams though the better ones will be right onto it in the weeks to come.

You would think so but it all depends what they do to replace Smooch Smith. Would you push Rhyce down back again after a successful sojourn or would you keep him up there and throw Rohan in? Amazing to think Rohan gets named on an extended bench after being injured and also playing Ressies the Week he did get injured (admittedly he topped the scoring sheets so he had a good game).

Bench to me looks like - Hanners, Meredith, White and fighting it out for fourth - Jetta or Rohan.
