Yeah,if he is fit ,he has to come in and if he plays a full game and we win with his contribution ,it sets us up to give the Saints a hiding.Mcglynne is in our best 22 as well when fit. I don't have a problem with either coming in if fit but won't be impressed if either limps off in the first quarter. Who to drop? I can't think of anyone who deserves it so i guess it came down to match ups with the opposition.Bevan's omission is surprising just as he was aceing that defensive forward role. This is a decision where you have to trust the people who know and on Saturday we will see if they do really know.
Braddy and McGlynn are back v Dogs!! - (TEAM NAMED)

And I'm a
m a bit worried with ROK and Braddy both a bit suss. But that's why the coaches get the bucks and we don't.
I have faith.Comment

Not suprised that White has gone for Braddy - purely based on a tall for a tall + potential wet weather
Bevan is stiff but am not too unhappy. He got a couple of cheap ones on Sat and McGlynn > Bevan.
Very, very glad that Jetta and TDL are in the teamComment

Poor Jesse White and Bevo. Did the job asked of them and got the arse. Deserve better.
I disagree with playing Bradshaw. He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.Comment

While you can't help but feel sorry for Jesse and Bevo - how can you disagree with Bradshaw playing? As pointed out by Roos in an article (I think on sydneyswans.com.au), Bradshaw, having played the last two weeks in the reserves, is better prepared for this match than he was for round one. I'm pretty sure the only person dissappointed by that decision was probably Daniel Currie.Comment

Poor buggers. At least they didn't drop Big Ted. Or Jetts. Wonder why Peb is still on if he is carrying.....aaaagggghhhhhhh.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Bevo and White have been harshly done by- but if Braddy is fit enough to play say 100 minutes, and Roos doesn't want to fiddle with the forward line (i.e. basically a like for a like) than I am comfortable with it. They must be confident Braddy is right.
As for Bevo, well its very harsh on him imo, but someone had to drop out. if it was me it would of been ROK to have the game off in the hope that the rest would help him for the PF should we win on Saturday.
They are both big calls, but I think in the overall picture of it, having Braddy and Mcglynn in the team makes us stronger than having Jesse and Bevan in there. Here's hoping anyway!"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

I, Blood Oath, who started the Goodbye Paul Bevan thread on 26th June, 2010, would like to issue a heartfelt apology for this thread and for the fact that he has been dropped from an important final after kicking 3 goals whilst keeping his opponent relatively quiet. In short, I WAS WRONG!J E T T A

My reasoning on Bradshaw is he lacks match fitness (wouldn't class a Canberra game as a match per se), brings no form into the team and possibly against the masses, think Jesse White has been a big part of our forward line success recently due to his mobility. If there is something Bradshaw lacks now, it is mobility.
I also have concerns as to what this will to do Jesse's psyche. I like him and I want him to stay a Swan.
Anyway, I hope it pays off, he kicks a bag and we win.Last edited by Legs Akimbo; 9 September 2010, 07:47 PM.He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment
