Yeah,if he is fit ,he has to come in and if he plays a full game and we win with his contribution ,it sets us up to give the Saints a hiding.Mcglynne is in our best 22 as well when fit. I don't have a problem with either coming in if fit but won't be impressed if either limps off in the first quarter. Who to drop? I can't think of anyone who deserves it so i guess it came down to match ups with the opposition.Bevan's omission is surprising just as he was aceing that defensive forward role. This is a decision where you have to trust the people who know and on Saturday we will see if they do really know.

Time for Bradshaw and McGlynn to do everything they can to honour those two names on Saturday night.
Well said. I hope they take that going into the game and play for thier unlucky mates who were stiff to miss out.

I agree..except i don't see much chance of McGlynn limping. Hopefully he wont be holding onto his jaw!!
        And I'm a

m a bit worried with ROK and Braddy both a bit suss. But that's why the coaches get the bucks and we don't.

Not suprised that White has gone for Braddy - purely based on a tall for a tall + potential wet weather

Bevan is stiff but am not too unhappy. He got a couple of cheap ones on Sat and McGlynn > Bevan.

Very, very glad that Jetta and TDL are in the team

Poor Jesse White and Bevo. Did the job asked of them and got the arse. Deserve better.

              I disagree with playing Bradshaw.

Exactly. I have much faith in our coaching staff/selectors and defer to their expertise and first hand knowledge.

Going through the build up on this thread until I saw the named team was a lot of fun. The anticipation is always better isn't it?

Very disappointed on the two "outs". I hope we don't destroy our winning formula.

While you can't help but feel sorry for Jesse and Bevo - how can you disagree with Bradshaw playing? As pointed out by Roos in an article (I think on sydneyswans.com.au), Bradshaw, having played the last two weeks in the reserves, is better prepared for this match than he was for round one. I'm pretty sure the only person dissappointed by that decision was probably Daniel Currie.

It's amazing how Bevo has survived the cull after so many poor games and then gets dropped after quite possibly the best game of his career.

Aint that the truth. I am not exactly happy with Jesse and Bevo out for this game. Angsted. Not unhappy to see Benny and Braddles in though. Can't we have a 24 member team? Just us mind.

Poor buggers. At least they didn't drop Big Ted. Or Jetts. Wonder why Peb is still on if he is carrying.....aaaagggghhhhhhh.

Bevo and White have been harshly done by- but if Braddy is fit enough to play say 100 minutes, and Roos doesn't want to fiddle with the forward line (i.e. basically a like for a like) than I am comfortable with it. They must be confident Braddy is right.

As for Bevo, well its very harsh on him imo, but someone had to drop out. if it was me it would of been ROK to have the game off in the hope that the rest would help him for the PF should we win on Saturday.

They are both big calls, but I think in the overall picture of it, having Braddy and Mcglynn in the team makes us stronger than having Jesse and Bevan in there. Here's hoping anyway!

I, Blood Oath, who started the Goodbye Paul Bevan thread on 26th June, 2010, would like to issue a heartfelt apology for this thread and for the fact that he has been dropped from an important final after kicking 3 goals whilst keeping his opponent relatively quiet. In short, I WAS WRONG!

                                Why Daniel Curry?

My reasoning on Bradshaw is he lacks match fitness (wouldn't class a Canberra game as a match per se), brings no form into the team and possibly against the masses, think Jesse White has been a big part of our forward line success recently due to his mobility. If there is something Bradshaw lacks now, it is mobility.

I also have concerns as to what this will to do Jesse's psyche. I like him and I want him to stay a Swan.

Anyway, I hope it pays off, he kicks a bag and we win.
