That's a bit harsh on Veszpremi, wasn't really given a chance in 2010 to impress.

Hope he travels well, and that all things work out for him. He is a nice kid. Can play a bit too. We just had too many goodn's to fit him in.
Welcome to Itzy; agree with Wardy, we could do well with this one. I do suppose he WANTS to come here?If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Someone posted our history with first rounders earlier in this thread. Willoughby, O'Keefe and Veszpremi all stand out now as wasted first round picks."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

I think he'll move up to the wing and even push forward in an O'Keefe style role. Up front, we'd look like:
Everitt White Jetta
McGlynn Bradshaw Bolton
He could also swing back to let Shaw, Malceski and even Mattner push up the ground, so we'd have:
Smith Grundy Mattner/ Kennelly
Everitt LRT Bolton
Anyway, I think it takes a good club to realise such a pick is not going to fit in early and still be able to get something for him.Sanford Wheeler 4 President!Comment

But we swapped a pick 11 for another pick 11 so we havnt wasted the pick yet. If Everitt bcomes a good player then it hasnt been a waste at allComment

Really??? He had ample game time in the Reserves to push for senior selection and from the games I saw he didn't seem to push harder enough. Having said that I wish him well in the next stage of of his career...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Exactly. You can't put him in the same category as guys who haven't made it at all. And how many other clubs have had 1st rounders that haven't made it, yet got nothing for them? I just think Vesz might always have struggled to find a spot when you have similar players like McGlynn, Jetta and even Rohan.

Veszpremi has talent and I'm not sure why the hate is for him. However, I am rapt with Andrejs Everitt though, hopefully he'll end up a gun for us.Comment

We've barely had any!!

B2 won't stick around. I can sense retirement in the next year personally. Year after at the most. And if Andrejs gets his @@@@ together then Mattner will start feeling some heat as well don't worry.
There is always an injury floating about as well. He'll get game time.Last edited by Nich; 6 October 2010, 01:33 PM.

Sorry meant TDL.
Rohan would be a rotating mid and also pushing up forward to rotate with Jetta/ McGlynn.
Past are the days where you nominate one guy for each position on the ground, particularly the utilities. Short answer is, he's in our best 22 above guys like Moore, Bevan etc.Sanford Wheeler 4 President!Comment
