Round 1 next year when everyone's healthy there will be several deserving guys who probably won't get a game like Rohan, Reid, Johnston etc. We have enough depth in this team and no major holes that we don't need to do something stupid or desperate just because we don't get Sherman. Give our young players a chance to build on this years growth instead of bringing in guys with lower ceilings that keep our promising players out of the team.
All three of those players you mentioned are potential KP players or a taller option.

We still desperately need to add to our midfield rotations and strength and expecially require blokes that can break a line and have good disposal and decision making skills.

While it's unlikely that we will find another adequate replacement for Sherman if we don't land him, it would not surprise me in the slightest if we puuled another on baller from tading by Monday if the club thinks they can find someone suitable.

With interchange now limited to 3 only, it has become even more apparent that you will need atleast 8 players to rotate through the midfield during a game to keep the pace on.

We would be crazy to sign Sherman after he has said he simply does not want to come to Sydney. If he does end up coming it can only be because of the $$$$$

Great news confirmed. He'll experience Melbourne, he'll never experience a premiership with the Dogs. A Buckley move that one.

So who is next on the list?

No need to worry as Robbo has just spotted, it's a done deal, Sherman's gone, gone, gone for good.

As soon as he reiterated that he definately didn't want to come to Sydney, that was it, all over red rover, couldn't have wanted him any less. We've learnt that lesson haven't we!

Someone else or our draft pick will get us there. Maybe even MOD might feel inspired to come up to scratch and be the mid fielder with tireless legs we know he could (should've by now) become?

Well, I thought it was reasonable idea anyway...

Hill more upside than Sherman for mine.

Thanks goodness that is over. I notice there's no gnashing of teeth on the Brisbane boards, they aren't sad to see Sherman go and are quite happy with the pick they got in return. They reckon he is a downhill skier, looks good when the team is on top but goes missing if it gets tough.

Once I studied Sherman's form a bit closer pick 21 and 4 x $400K was way over the odds. Glad to now see one of our younger players playing in place of Sherman.

It gives us a clear run tomorrow if we are eyeing any late trades. Still think the Adelaide Cows Armstrong is worth a punt, should be cheapish too.

Primmy, I'll let you know if I'm coming to Sydney during the 2011 season.

Armstrong looks promising, but probably not in best 22 right now. Would be very good depth (unlikely to want to come as a depth player) and is young so would be handy in the next couple of years. Good for a 3rd round pick. Unlikely though.

Just heard on the radio that the Swans are interested in having talks around Setanta O'hAilpin. Scary.

What a joke if we take Setanta. He'd be given a game ahead of guys like Reid and Johnston, we're not that stupid are we?
