Grim times indeed. We are nowhere near where we thought we'd be and a mile off the good teams. As an earlier post said, unless we start finding better avenues to goal we simply won't kick winning scores. Our forward line is a major worry - reckon LJ will get a debut next week - if only because we need to try a few different things.

Couldn't wait to leave the ground. It was like watching the under 18's playing a top quality side. The difference in skills, effort and organisation was absolutely stark.

We have no forward set-up, the midfield was well beaten and the skills and speed were just terrible.

The only enjoyment of the day was watching Buddy, who is a superstar of the game. And to a lesser extent, Rioli. Oh if only we had some of their talent. That's the real key, we don't have an abundance of talent and just look pathetic by comparison.

The difference in the top teams and the lesser lights is definitely showing now.

At least the crowd was up - 33,000 is respectable.

We DO NOT HAVE a forward line in any sense of the traditional!!!!! That is all I am saying....sounds simplistic but is a fact!!!!!....we COULD have but the selectors have chosen otherwise, that is how it seems to me in my simple footy brain. i am older than most of you on this forum. I may be calling from USA these days but I was there at the SCG for all those years of the 80s and 90s...I played in the band at the old Moore Park head quarters...i comiserrated with Kelly and Lewis at the bar in those dark days...i do know this club!!!!

                Bruce McAvaney

Ok, we weren't good, but from the start of the game, could "Sepecial" McAvaney have made any more negative comments about our boys? Even when we were winning early.

Hope they continue to come, even if we don't win every week

Brucie babe was barracking for the Hawks, no doubt, as he gloated over Franklin and Rioli. Then because of the ultra delayed game (then in ads on high repeat that drive me INSANE - I will not insure with RACV if my life depended on it!), the husband stops watching. Sneaks off to the computer no doubt to check the score, then becomes incredibly busy outside, in the garage, in the car just to leave the lounge room. By this time I am realising we have no hope and I HATE CHANNEL 7. I know our team was very out of sorts, but Channel 7 did not deserve the rights again!

Tackling was once one of our great strengths. Now they just seem to throw out an arm as an opposition player runs past - no urgency anymore.

Surrounded by the NFL and the Ice Hockey and the Pirates ....I still find the the time to be grossly irritated by Bruce......even so far away it carries the seeds of the ultimate gay Oz footy commentator...it is like I never left. I am NOT homophoebic but this creature cuts deep into the depths of my soul every time i have to endure a 7 commentary!!!!! LOLOL.....

It was great to see that turnout - considering next door at the Easts NRL game there would have been 10,000 max. BUT Sydney sports fans are fickle, and there was a huge media push this week for this match, as a result we got the good crowd, we had the interest, we had the perfect day, but in the end the Swans failed to deliver.

Franklin is a freak - he gets excellent delivery, he can kick goals and is 9 times out of 10 always in front, Rioli, and others were fantastic, like it or not, Hawthorn were the deal today- our team on the other hand, and for the most part today, were 5 metres behind opponents, we had fumbles and stumbles and tried to play that god awful chip passing and hand ball bingo style - IT WAS CRAP AND IT DOESNT WORK!

I havent been this mad in ages. Not good enough Swans - get your hands off your hips, lift you heads, support your players instead of pointing at them, and lift your bloody game! end of rant
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

AGE IS ONLY IMPORTANT FOR TWO THINGS - WINE & CHEESE!

This aspect of the game was just so frustrating, yes the Hawks were brilliant today but we allowed them to be brilliant. Such a disappointing effort. The players have to redeem themselves next week.
