    Next week.........there's always next week
Fortunately I had to travel across town to look at bathroom tiles today.

Apparently this was third time this year we failed to score a goal in second quarter.

Have to take it philosophically. We've lost to three likely top four sides this year. We've challenged each of them for two or three quarters but with our level of experience it's not surprising we get overrun.

If anyone can tell me why LRT has been rushed back as a ruckman - well I'll be willing to listen.... bloody stupid choice - he is not a ruckman - surely Seaby would be a better pick?

Starting to wonder about Longmire as a coach - he certainly has no idea about the Sub - I reckon he has been outcoached about 70% of the games this year - ROK on Judd is an example.

I disagree with everything you just said except for the subs but mainly that has not been his fault the only thing that i think should have happened that he has not done yet is get Lewis Johnston and TDL out there, if you have a look at the majority of the other teams bar essendon and west coast they only play one ruckman and they have a key position player do the rest.

Seaby has been good in the reserves but not good enough to earn his spot in the senior team otherwise he would have been in a couple of weeks ago instead of pyke.

I like Grundy but I'll readily admit I gave him at least 3 sprays today (I never sit right on the boundary but today I did- bad idea!) He was behind him every time and frankly had a woefuly game. He wasn't the only player that got a spray from me however!

Outplayed, outenthused, outthought, outran and outclassed.

So disappointing today. We were chasing tails all day, the delivery into the non-existent forward line was deplorable. To make matters worse I suspect Goodsey may be in trouble for a trip (or attempted) in the 4th quarter. We MUST bring in LJ and possibly TDL next week!

Agree with most of what Nico said.

Longmire's coaching & selection leaves a lot to be desired.

              - Shaw was kept on Rioli too long
              - LRT as our main forward. Seriously WTF. Play the man down back, even if it's sitting in front of Buddy.
              - Goodes needed to be played forward
              - Mummy needed to be rested forward more
              - Why is TDL not in the team?
              - Why is Goodes played forward when White is, but then when White is out of the team, Goodes plays midfield?
              - Seaby should be in the team

Well just got home to Canberra after that really disappointing effort today. If the Dawks had of kicked striaght in the 2nd quarter we would of got an absolute flogging. We were 2nd best for the last 3 quarters comfortably. Our forward line structure was absolutely non-existant, our midfield on holidays, and our defenders under so much pressure that they made plenty of mistakes. I sat in the 1st row today, and while I gave the umps a bit of a spray at times, most of my sprays today were towards our players who at different times weren't trying hard enough or working hard enough off the ball or just plain poor. I never like to be negative about our beloved swans, but we were damn ordinary today to say the least.

Something as to be done with the forward line... we need to pick what our best forward line is and go with it. None of this trash of using LRT up forward and whoever else they want to rotate through there. When your most potent forward is Ben Mcglynn (and I don't mean that as an insult at all- he is a fine player) then there are obvious issues that need to be addresed. The few times we managed to get posession today in the midfield we had no forward line structure and the midfielders had no idea who to aim for (if indeed there was anyone to aim for). TDL is desperately needed and LJ should be given a chance, and most importantly we need to pick a proper forward structure, with forwards.

Why LRT was used up forward I will never know- its got to be either him or AJ from now on in my opinion in the backline and for goodness sake Longmire play a 2nd ruckmen. Seaby or Pyke at least offer a good solid target up forward and it'll help Mumford who will burn out before the end of the seasonat this rat. .I'm not at all convinced by Everitt either- really didn't have an impact at all today.

Our midfield was woeful today. Too often they were a mile behind their men, tackles were soft, ball handling non existant and kicking usually only in hope rather then to a target.

Its becoming pretty clear that while we will beat most teams around us and those below us, we haven't moved forward at all in comparison to the top 4 (Although the 4 is different to last year). We are still well behind the eight ball, which is disappointing. Another year of middle/low 8 mediocrity seems to be unfolding. Really disappointing today.

We got smashed in UN-contested pozzies.
Hawks moved it out of defenbce with ease .
Were they running hard - or were we just too slow and lazy to pick them up ??

Another noticeable feature : we put the ball into the 50 inaccurately , whereas Hawthorn regularly kicked it "flat" , making it easier for their forward line to mark and harder for our defence to spoil.

Anyway , bottom line is , we were beaten by a better team.

I still do but I chose to go much later today than I normally do. You expect that with Sunday day games.

You can never get enough exercise. No matter what your level of fitness. It was an absolutely glorius walk in the park.

Much like what the Hawks did to the Swans today.

Did I tell you I tipped 8 this week.

the thing annoying me the most aside from such a pathetic performance is that i consider LRT to be an excellent backman and we are stuffing around with him, i dont believe we are good enough to have that luxury.

Everitt was rubbish, but he has shown enough up forward (and others have shown nothing) to deserve a bit of a run there, but just leave him there. I also know Goodes is a real utility but lets pick a main spot for him. Did jude forget how to kick today?

We just didnt have the ball today 100 possies down is pathetic, and when we did have it we were so poor with our ball use. It was a dirty day, but every team has them, its how we respond that is important and we have 2 games now that are must wins and should be wins. Just decide who our are forwards and bring seaby or white in

Positives from today...ummm hanneberry looked back in form

Lets hope that is our 1 a season abhorition (spelt wrong i know)....As the mentioned it has been a decade since we copt a flogging at the SCG..what is it playing at home this year, We cant seem to win one whereas previously it was hard to beat us even if we were a poor ranked team...
OUr midfield got found wanting...Our stoppage play was pathetic, we didn't pick up on the 3rd man up at the ruck contests all day, played behind the man in the stoppages...how often did the hawks just have free men all day....
dissappointing today in the end the performace was that bad, i stopped yelling at the screen midway through the 3rd....next 4 weeks is important we need 3 from 4 to remain in touch with the 4, though i feel we are really 6-8th place team this year as our yngr players haven't improved from last year.....

any word on how Jed lamb has been going in the 2's
