Our problem is that we dont have a forward line.
We just kick the ball in there time and time again and hope, and more often than not (like today) it goes straight to the opposition. We just dont have any great forwards, we need to back TDL and work on inside 50s, like our leads and picking targets.
Full credit to Ben McGlynn, but he really shouldnt be our leading goalscorer, we need a good, big full forward, which we just dont have, which McGlynn can work off.

I will repeat for my final comment...the final siren sounded and Goodes leaned down and pulled up his socks...oh if only he and the rest of the mob had done that an hour earlier....

I don't think we have played worse this season. Clumped when we should be spread, failing to man up, as many others have said skills terrible, not capitalising on time in F50, falling off tackles, blind kicking, etc., etc. Lacked passion and commitment as well.
Reg had a horror game and I wonder whether he is carrying an injury of some sort. Ted did better but is not a match for Buddy. The midfield was massacred. There were people in the F50 but not a forward line. Even Mummy had a patchy game, and Hawthorn repeatedly used a third man into the ruck while we did little or nothing to counter it. Goodes also patchy. The Eski a bright spot.
We are really missing our injured; the youngsters, as someone said, are talented but not experienced. I look forward to the return of Jack, Rohan and Pike, who is a top ruckman and a reliable target up forward. TDL would be useful as Andrejs cannot be expected to cope with two players blanketing him; he is a good lead-and-mark forward but not a packbreaker.
I thought we had a show at the end of Q1 - why did it fall apart from there?
And to cap it all 3 or 4 ads after the goals. Drove me spare. Bloody Channel 7.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Pretty much what I expected from last weeks performance by both teams.

I thought 6 to 7 goal win to the Hawks.

I actually left at 3/4 tiime with the kids as we were parked on the other side of Centennial Park and there was no way I was going to be stuck in traffic after a thrashing.

We have a young side in most parts. Senior players made plenty of dumb mistakes.

I think a positive outcome for the team. We were never going to play after the first round of the finals even if we did make them this year.

I'm just quietly watching the West Coast v. Bulldogs game as there might just be a BIG celebration about to happen.

Just home from the game. It was disgraceful.

I'm strugglign to think what is more inspid, the basic skill errors or no pride in the Jersey.
The so called "Bloods spirit" today was made to sound like a wanky marketing gimicik.

I hear you got to meet Mr Big Al today.

That would have been a major disappointment override regarding the score.

Bruce & Dennis have become clowns, jerkin each other off with stupid in-jokes and trying to be clever when they should be watching & commentating on the action. It took them more than 3 mins of game time to realise we had activated our sub Parker. That is ridiculous.

I am thankful as of next year i wont have to watch a channel 7 game for 5 years minimum. HAPPY DAYS!

Beaten by Geelong (1st),Hawthorn (3rd) and Carlton (5th) But we beat Essendon (4th) and Weagles (6TH)
So we are in that mid / just under top shelf.
Games against North (14th) and then Brisbane (16th) should be wins....... then Richmond in the key battleground we are in 8th / 9th.
We have blooded a few players and they will need to grow both in skill and bodies for the rest of this year. There is no easy way to a top 4 position.

We had an off day today against switched on opposition but I do remember a similar off day against St Kilda in Rd 10 2005 where nothing went right ...but the season got better ... and better.
So Etihad Stadium here we come. Back for a better day.

Our skills are so awful. Cost us the first three goals, and were constant throughout the game. There was a moment where Mumford and Mattner both dropped marks right around the Hawks' goalsquare within a minute of each other. The worst was Grundy being too busy sulking over getting caught behind Buddy for the hundredth time, and not noticing him waltzing around to kick a goal.

We're a good average side at best.
