If that is correct, then it is utterly ridiculous from the club and in my opinion shows very bad judgement from people that should know better. Our skills have been disgraceful all year, and our kicking for goal has cost us games we should have won, and a few others have been close affairs when we should have won comfortably. Every team suffers from the yips at time, but as a team that doesn't create a lot of chances we can not afford to do so and we should be doing everything to avoid it happening. Especially considering the way you win games is by getting points on the board, and the best way to do that is by kicking goals. Sometimes I wonder if we focus too much on stopping the other team scoring than making sure we know how to score heavily and take our chances when they come.

What a turgid performance...
Changes :
Out - Everitt -Why he was again selected as sub...and on a wet night ???? Mind boggling
Kennelly - Woeful, both his form and talking himself up for a new contract in the papers. After years of "I want to go home" and screwing us by leaving in preseason. Now we have to suffer him looking for his retirement fund.
Bevan - He's just not good enough. We can only hope GWS give us something for him.
White - Like Bevo, he's just not good enough, body work is non existent. I thought he might make it as a defender, I now doubt that.
Jetta - Just doesn't have the body or desire for a hard fought contest, particually in the wet. Maybe a couple more preseasons will give him the confidence to attact the ball harder and take the lazy stuff out of his game.

I found it hard to tell watching the game on tele, but for those calling for White's head did he actually spend a lot of time in the forward line? I haven't looked at stats (so he probably only got 1 touch!) but I thought his around the ground work in the ruck was relatively involved and okay for a second week in a row.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Get Nick Davis as Goal Kicking Coach. I was told by someone that watches training that there is very little in the way of specialist Goal Kicking training. The other thing I was told was that specialised skills drills were overrided by fitness drills & therefore were either not completed or completely deleted. I haven't been along to look at the training sessions but I am of the opinion we need skills sessions & our forwards & mids need specialised goal kicking practice. Appasrently most clubs don't do concentrated goal practice. But funnily, the Hawks, Cats & Pies do! Funny about that.Comment

Bevan was actually decent for a change.
Swap them for Kennelly and Jetta, and I'd agree.Comment

I don't agree at all with the drop Jetta calls.
I thought his first half tonight was the best half of footy he's played all year. He certainly tapered off in the second half, but overall I thought he was much improved and look forward to seeing him on a dry track again.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

Yeah, he did play in the ruck a fair bit and he did get the ball moving forward on occasion. But he didn't take one contested mark all night (that I can remember), and for a guy of his size and skill, he should be far more involved and dominant against a team like Adelaide.
Adelaide ran with two legit sized ruckmen and the conditions would have made it pretty difficult as an undersized ruckman at any stoppage- if you're trying to hold position and the ground is soggy and giving way it goes to all strength to hold off your opponent, if both opposition ruckmen have 2-3 inches on you that's not easy and you'll tire pretty quickly.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Yep, I'd agree with that- I think he's been fine as a backup ruckman the last couple of weeks but Mummy/Seaby is the ruck combo to go with. I got the impression that some folks may have thought Jesse being dropped would open up a permanent forward spot for someone to come into.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
