    "TDL has foot injury"

Anyone who kicked as many goals as TDL would have a foot injury too!

Has TDL already worked something out with GWS and therefore not getting picked, a la Nathan Bock? Or can his body just not cope senior footy?
I See It But I Don't Believe It!!!!

          Seriously?
It's evidence that you shouldn't select a side with too may talls, against one of the quickest sides in the league. I don't think that's proof that we can't play 2 ruckmen, consider the Footscray game.

I just answered your question about when it was tried. I'm not saying it was the main reason we got taken to the cleaners by the Blues.

Thankyou, I did notice that you answered my question about when 2 rucks were tried. . . . . .
Actually that's why I mentioned the successfull use of 2 rucks against Footscray. I thought it a reasonable counter argument.

The main difference is the bulldogs game Pyke was the second ruck, much more effective forward for mine than Seaby. And the blues played 2 rucks as well, just that their rucks were infinately more mobile and versatile,Mummy and Seaby are ruckmen and thats it.You seem angry, surely its not that bad?

You can play two rucks if the second one is athletic and versatile. Seaby is not IMO.

I doubt the club would know nthe full extent of any discussions between TDL's management and GWS,he's hardly a crash and bash in and under guy so he really shouldnt be having issues with his body.

If he was known to be going to GWS i personally wouldnt even give him a game in the seconds.Although of course he's failure to get selected time and time again isnt really his fault i would refuse to play anyone who was already off to another club,Roosy said as much last year.

                        So Seaby's career is over?

I think his only value with us is as a depth player. He'd probably be the first choice ruckman at a few clubs but not with us.

I would be extremely surprised if GWS have even entertained the thought of TDL. He wouldn't be anywhere near the top of their list - they'll be seeking a few stars and some hardened bodies that have been in the system for more than a couple of years to help out the young talent they'll have access to. TDL has only played a handful of senior games and has shown merely a few titillating glimpses of talent.

Give him a couple more years to mature and he might be up there where we want him to be and I hope the caching staff are getting that message through to him loud and clear.

That's exactly the case Jono. The coaching staff have said on a number of occasions what TDL has to work on and to his credit he is doing just that.

Why do we continue to persist with such a tall backline? There's no need to have 3 or 4 talls down back against the GC.
