Longmire - How much longer?

I'm happy to see things going heaps better than I expected but I won't take the boot while I'm down. I'll say I was WRONG when we do well in the finals. I don't think I ever said Longmire wasn't up to it. What annoyed me was we had only one ruckman. That change was pretty much forced on him. He's down brilliantly with the midfield and attacking side of our game and the defense has got even better. I am still vaguely troubled that in finals in finals intensity we might need more in the way of forwards.

No. Not in denial. As Longmire and every other coach and player will say "We just take it one game at a time" or "We're not getting ahead of ourselves".

Fonzie was never wrong - he found it very hard to say "I was wwwwwrrrrrrrrrrrrrrronnng" Wolfie is awfully quiet at the moment and he is one of Horses greatest "alternative admirers " too....hmmm

I think Bodgie does have a point about the forwards. It is probably our weakest area. Defence is awesome, midfield is not far behind but is capable of bad lapses. Do we have a forward capable of a Hawkins like performance in a big, high pressure game? . Hopefully we are good enough in the other areas for it to not be an issue. Either way, it's not Longmires fault. To get us where we are without a 50-60 goal big forward is all the more credit to him.

But Fonzie was the heart and soul of that show and would never have lasted without him.

I happily came on this thread with a to celebrate the people who have had complete faith and admit my own doubts have been largely misplaced. The only reason I won't say wrong yet is that the hardest part of the season is now and ahead. Good on you all. What I love the most is that when the camera crosses to the coaches box you can see his passion for it now. I thought that was missing earlier but I guess he was just quietly putting it all together.

We don't have to worry about not enough forwards; the midfielders are more than happy to lend a hand where necessary.
That's what so great and different about the team this year; they are backing themselves AND backing each other.

Ok in all seriousness Horse must be doing something right with the group he has to work with - We have lost only 3 matches so far and we are a game clear on top of the ladder with 4 rounds to go - this is the first time in years that we are not just in the 8 to make up the numbers. From where I'm Sitting that's a pretty good position to be in. None of us on this board have ever coached an AFL senior team so at the end of the day Longmire and his staff have a much better idea of how it works and what to do than we do. He was the understudy for years - now it's His turn to shine. We should give the guy a break

Oh and also I was just taking the piss with the. Fonzie thing and I did put a in so please don't go thingy on me its just a bit of fun which is what this board is supposed to be.:-)

Frog, as site admin, wouldn't you just delete or unilaterally re-draft the posts that disagree with yours (to make their arguments look sillier), or for that matter close a thread whose OP had 2 points to make:
a) Longmire would take us to the bottom 4 before long, and
b) his job was guaranteed until the end of 2012, so it was going to be a long 15 months (as it was when thread started) to wait until then,
and had therefore completely outlived its relevance?

Frog, its really not that important in the whole scheme of things...take a chill pill, get a thicker skin, or even let it ride, in the grand scheme of things what you, I or anyone else thinks of our coach doesn't matter. What matters is right now the team is winning games a lot more than they are losing!!

I didn't know @@@@ing nuts was a medical term) I can tell you this one from Frog is a ripper. It's clear that Frog has a personal problem with Horse and no amount of success will change that.
