I take back my "joke" comment, for now.

Hannebery is a gun! Goodes has absolutely killed it!

Dogs are a long way down and headed south. If we think we have forward woes, cast forward to next season and tell me where the dogs are gonna find any goals? Their premiership window has not just closed, it has been cemented over!

Stepped out for a minute and I missed an apparent spectacular play by Reid in the final few minutes.

Can someone tell me what happened?

He took a hanger over Goodes, went back and slotted it.

Aside from a lapse in the second quaerer, that was one of the best consistent efforts of the year. Goodes or Jack BOG? Jack and Mummy look to be getting back into form and fitness, I think when he is going well Keiran is a huge difference in the side

But I agree with commentators one of the best games Bird has played 20 disposals and 4 goals.
A few RWOers were harsh on him last when he came back from a knee. He was good for a number of weeks on the trot before that. I thought Jude was pretty good coming off a 2 week break.

I tell you what, he is most certainly my man crush at the moment haha Great grab and went back and slotted it as well. I have no doubt that he is going to be a star of the comp in a year or two he is the man to build our future forward line around. All I want to see fromt he club with Sammy is make sure that young man is signed up for the long term as he is something special.

We didn't finish them off like we should of due to our usual lack of accuracy in front of goal, but it was a vastly improved performance from last weeks effort.

                  - Jack was sensational. He is now the best player in our midfield I think and when he plays well, we play well.
                  - Bird had the best game of his career. 20 odd possessions and 4 goals. His disposal is a bit iffy still but his decision making continues to improve and I'm glad he is beginning to fulfil the potential he has.
                  - Goodes had his best game of the year and led from the front. He needs to play like that every week if we are going to get past even the first week of the finals this year.
                  - Teddy - another fantastic game and that late 1 % was critical and shows how good a year he is having. Really played well in the 2nd half when he was moved of BBB.
                  - Reid- as I said, star in the making.
                  - Hanners - Tough, Smart and a clever footballer. I think he will in a few years give the Brownlow medal a real shake. Has all that is needed to be an elite midfielder.
                  - Mummy - Back to his best today.

Better consistent effort across the 4 quarters today. The Dogs are a shadow of what they were over recent seasons, but we worked hard and while we never nailed them on the scoreboard, there were good signs out there today. We need to be much cleaner in possession still though, and we still had some shocking clangers around the ground, especially from Shaw (who apart from his disposal was fantastic today).

This season I feel still will prove to be overall a frustrating year, but my goodness we have some good players coming through. If Longmire has any ability as a coach and we can trade/get lucky in the draft to fill a few spots in the team, we will have the players on the list to seriously challenge and hopefully win a flag in the next few years.

All while playing a defensive role on the dangerous Higgins.

Overall it was a victory for sheer will and grunt, rather than class and silk but it was highly enjoyable. And I can't rennet getting quite so excited about a young prospect as I am about Reid.

I agree & i think bottom 4 for the Doggies next season. A few things worry me though we had 75% of the play & still didn't put this mob away, our delivery to forwards was atrocious & we still don't have a gun forward line or a settled line up.

Tadhg has to go he was very ordinary. If they drop Parker they are @@@@@@! Nipper & TDL should come in. Shaw was regrettably terrible today & he hasn't been consistent in the last few weeks. He constantly gave the ball up.

I see Rodney hasn't changed & he is still playing injured players like Cooney. He nearly ended Micky O's career because he played him injured.

If we can't get the forward stuff right, kicking for goal etc we are going to get flogged in the finals. I saw some very basic mistakes today at goal kicking that would normally have been seen at junior level & it is all about stuff like run up, ball hold & drop. Very basic stuff really & I agree with Alan Jeans, Leigh Wathews & co that footy is a basic ge & if you get the basics right you win the big one.

Triple-M and Goodes gave him the best wrap in the interview after the match, basically saying in 2-3yrs time he will be one of the competitions best ;-) But Bird WOW what a game! truly coming into his own.........

In addition to forward problems to come for the Dogs, they conceded 74 inside 50's today, so clearly defence isn't great either.

And with their mids nowhere near the force of previous years, they have lots of problems presenting at the same time.

Is perhaps not surprising, they've been up for many seasons and with a bit more polish and (maybe) luck, they should have picked up a flag in that time.

We're a massively better side when Goodes, Jack and Mumford bring their A-game. Hanna and AJ were sensational too. Defenders held up well despite the odd brain spasm.

Thanks for the 150 DT points Goodesy. Captaincy beckons.

We all are. If Reid ever finds out how important he is, he may never lose those yips.
