Good win by our boys today, not without issues, but a good one for sure.

Hopefully the winning mojo can stick around for the rest of the season and they can stride confidently into the finals. Timing is everything in this game and things can change (for good or bad) pretty quickly. See Essendon as prime example - from the absolute doldrums three weeks ago and going nowhere to consecutive gutsy wins and back in town.

All I want to see fromt he club with Sammy is make sure that young man is signed up for the long term as he is something special.

We didn't finish them off like we should of due to our usual lack of accuracy in front of goal, but it was a vastly improved performance from last weeks effort.

      - Jack was sensational. He is now the best player in our midfield I think and when he plays well, we play well.
      - Bird had the best game of his career. 20 odd possessions and 4 goals. His disposal is a bit iffy still but his decision making continues to improve and I'm glad he is beginning to fulfil the potential he has.
      - Goodes had his best game of the year and led from the front. He needs to play like that every week if we are going to get past even the first week of the finals this year.
      - Teddy - another fantastic game and that late 1 % was critical and shows how good a year he is having. Really played well in the 2nd half when he was moved of BBB.
      - Reid- as I said, star in the making.
      - Hanners - Tough, Smart and a clever footballer. I think he will in a few years give the Brownlow medal a real shake. Has all that is needed to be an elite midfielder.
      - Mummy - Back to his best today.

Better consistent effort across the 4 quarters today. The Dogs are a shadow of what they were over recent seasons, but we worked hard and while we never nailed them on the scoreboard, there were good signs out there today. We need to be much cleaner in possession still though, and we still had some shocking clangers around the ground, especially from Shaw (who apart from his disposal was fantastic today).

This season I feel still will prove to be overall a frustrating year, but my goodness we have some good players coming through. If Longmire has any ability as a coach and we can trade/get lucky in the draft to fill a few spots in the team, we will have the players on the list to seriously challenge and hopefully win a flag in the next few years.
I only have one problem with this sum up. Shawie just gave it up nearly every time or just kicked out on the full or to a contest. He gets the ball so well & runs on so well but the delivery is @@@@. If he is going to be a part of our next Premiership side he needs to learn how to be consistently good with his delivery. At the moment he is just consistent, consistently bad.

Our backs have to learn not to give up the easy goal & use better decision making. Three kicks & a really bad handball 3.1 to the Doggies.

We still just bomb it in too often. In the last half we started to hit up players in the forward half but the coaching staff went defensive press again when we had been very successful at one on one all day.

The win was good but we should have beaten them by 80-120pts

All the young blokes were really good today & I think a couple of the old buggers could look at how the young blokes play the game, I think they all went to the Jude Bolton school of footy

When Goodes is on we look like a good side.

Mummy was back to his best today. He was absolutely superb.

Craig Bird.... WOW. What a great game.

My man love for Sammy shows no sign of abating.

Loved Jettas game. His pressure and tackling were superb. How good is he going to be in a couple of years.

All in all a very satisfying win. Obviously we need to improve our disposal but no negatives tonight. I'm going to saviour the win.

Dogs are having the same problem that we had a few years back - having Hall as the only target, which makes them far too predictable.

Only heard the last quarter on the radio today but was very encouraged when the commentators called "great tackle by Jetta". It sounds like he has been working hard on the training track and you have to respect that.

Otherwise it is pretty obvious that we have a good forward structure and game plan, and the coaches shouldnt be changed?

He chased hard and harassed all day. His tackles were sticking as well. It was a good display by the Jets.

I agree with this. In the first half Jetta was quite, but in the second half he really upped his intensity and was constantly harassing and playing good defensive football, with some attacks of his own. I was impressed with him today.

Craig Bird kicked 4 goals & if they are going to leave him next to Reid good but still no real structure to speak of, just hit & miss with delivery & forward set up. Bomb it in & it will happen too often is the go. The game plan is ordinary we should have won by 80-100pts

Yeah i agree. Very happy with the win but I hope we work on these things. A couple of times, Benny/Jets/Joey had all the time in the world to hit a target and we just loaded up. We could have absolutely drilled them in the 3rd if we used the ball more efficiently. Still happy though : )

We really need a couple of percentage boosters with the Saints breathing down our necks. Bye next week time to rest & reflect & hope our coaching staff get their act together before the finals

Mate, we generated 34 scoring shots and it was only skill errors that didn't give the bulldogs the thrashing they deserve. To say there was no structure is just plain wrong. We either have a structure that works or it doesn't work but there is always a structure.

Geez the dogs have a great future ahead.....a 34 year old soon to be retired player kicks most of their goals and is their main target. Without hall today we would of won by 10 goals plus, but ill take the win coming into the bye and hopefully we freshen up a bit for the bombers game.
