Only 19 449 at the SCG today, which is a shame. Lots of reasons though:

    #1 lousy (again) weather
    #2 not wanting to leave the ground wanting to punch something (my reason after last week);
#3 (or maybe =#2), protest against the umpiring last week
#4 the goodbyes had already been said - apart from 'don't let the door smack you in the arse on the way out' - another one wasn't really needed
#5 dread of a season killing loss
#6 marketing misfire of Horse calls during the week(?)

Others? Thoughts people? A crowd of sub 20k is a big concern for the club, and should be for the AFL (if they took their heads out of their arses long enough to take any notice)

Tragic isn't it. Pass me the tissues ... NOT!!

Will be very happy to see them overtake our record 72 year drought! Only 16 more years to go!

        That trio are weekly culprits.

I think that is a safe bet, they are miles off a premiership.

Craig Bird.... WOW. What a great game.

My man love for Sammy shows no sign of abating.

Loved Jettas game. His pressure and tackling were superb. How good is he going to be in a couple of years.

All in all a very satisfying win. Obviously we need to improve our disposal but no negatives tonight. I'm going to saviour the win.
Agree with all that Baz. Bird was superb today.
Thought Smooch and Hanners were outstanding as usual. Dan is running into great form. Just love how competitive he is
I love LRT forward. If only he could have marked that ball on the run. *sigh*
My only real worry is Reggie's confidence.

#7 it was the Bulldogs, I can't remember the last time I went to a game against them in Sydney that had a bumper crowd (I'm sure a stats fiend will correct me on that!)
#8 the team really hasn't been traveling very well
#9 I think they rely a lot on good game day experience to get people back for the smaller drawing teams, they haven't had much of an opportunity to impress at the SCG this year with the weather
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

enjoyed that win, still dont capitalise on opportunities enough but some good signs, dont think anyone had a poor game. Reid is impressive, he creates so many opportunities if he can just start converting and taking them he can be a 3 goal a game chf easily.

Pleasing things were birds awesome effort and the fact hanneberry seems to back flying again oh and jack was better.

Very happy this week, i just want to beat essendon though
Theres not much left to say

I thought while LRT wasn't a threat forward, he provided a serious contest for the defenders to deal with, allowing our other players to score. It was good to see him slot one too.

Also I think Nick Smith is one of our consistently best players. The quiet achiever. I've grown to like him alot, does some great tackles.

As for the crowd, a lot of people make their weekend plans early in the week. The build an Ark type weather during week along with the dodgy forecast would have meant a lot of people made other plans.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

As a follower of the Swans since they arrived in Sydney, it makes me so upset to see such a pathetic crowd as today.

If you call a structure banging the ball in & expecting to either get goals from marks or crumbing, ok we have a structure. We are still a long way from the type of structure that wins premierships. 34 scoring shots for how many goals, 16 still it could have been worse I suppose. We set up better in the second half & players hit targets a lot of those were mids drifting down. We can't rely on mids to kick a winning score every week. The goal kicking is still atrocious & needs to be addressed.

If Parker gets dropped this week I will be ropeable & might just think about following GWS next year! I might think about it!! I probably won't do it but gee some of the selection decisions this year are baffling. Tadhg should go down for some r&r in the resies next week.

Benny was good this week & releasing him into the mid has been a good move one of the few this mob have made but of course there is a precedent, he played there for the Hawks.

No-one has mentioned Grundy. I thought he played a great game. Bird was fantastic, best game of his career, Sam Reid will become a superstar, Grundy was in control in the backline and Shaw is colour blind!

May as well. You're not a Swans supporter. A Swans follower maybe, but not a supporter. By the way, Longmire's moves today were brilliant.

He had a great game and was very composed in the backline. He seemed to have plenty of time and mostly chose the right option. Definitely in the running for a TLM vote from me.
