You're probably right about the high draft pick expectations. We've had a few of those going back decades. In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

Apparently LJ is on the Gold Coast, NOT flying to Adelaide. If Emma Quayle can get that wrong, then maybe the rest of it's wrong as well! Perhaps she has her wires crossed, and got LJ confused with Seaby, who went to Adelaide for a medical with Port?Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

I actually think LJ is far from a sure thing of making it at senior level. He is an exquisite kick and has a great footy brain but his marking isn't a stand out, he has had lots of foot / ankle injuries, and his onfield work ethic is quite inconsistent. But I would rather we persisted with him for a while longer given our lack of forward options. If the club is even thinking about this trade it must be because they think there is a young key forward that will probably be available in the draft at whatever pick we get in return.Comment

TWR has just mentioned this trade as I write but only has something someone has tweeted in and not a definative story. Their response was well pretty much the same as many other dreamt up tweets. - "Who knows????"In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

This is sounding fair:
Tom Lynch to Adelaide / Tony Armstrong to Sydney / pick(s) to St Kilda
The Crows are understood to be willing to part with pick 24 ? received from Hawthorn in the Jack Gunston trade ? as a part of a deal somewhere. Whether that helps to get Armstrong to the Swans with 24 going to the Saints and a few other picks exchanging hands between the teams remains to be seen.Comment

I've seen first hand what LJ is capable of. I've said numerous times he just needs the injury curse to be lifted and we'll have a star on our hands. Trading him would be a massive disappointment if true...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. TWR has Adelaide list manager on now.................
He said Maric now gone, Griffen is their high priority from Freo now. Spent a fair bit of time talking about ruckmen.
They asked him about Armstrong and L J rumour. He said that he'd heard a Judd rumour as well. So said they are close to working something out and keeping cards close to their chest.
So that is the latest. Might be, might not.
So did not deny or support the L J rumour.Last edited by Bas; 14 October 2011, 01:49 PM.In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

Doesn't mean it's impossible. LJ just has to get to a medical before the completion of trade week on Monday. It's beginning to sound a little like the Schneider trade, didn't expect to go but was convinced that it would be better for his football career if he did.Comment

I agree - LJ looks very likely to develop into a quality player - the only thing against him is that if he was a few cms taller he'd be a key forward. He is a lovely kick of the ball and we can do with a few of those guys on our list.Comment
